Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but Sussex is the very best ginger ale out there.
Unfortunately, since I can't get it in Texas, I'll buy Canada Dry then Schweppe's or Seagram's depending what's on sale. But then I have to beat the other New England transplants vying for one of the two 12-packs the stores here stock. God forbid they take any shelf space from Dr Pepper!

I love Sprecher's Ginger Ale. You can taste quite a bit of ginger in it. It works great as a mixer. Though it's pretty spicy and I always need a "chaser" when drinking it (without any alcohol)!
Their Root Beer was rated as the best root beer in the NY Times dining section a little while ago.

My vote goes to: Stoney Tangawizi which is bottled only in Africa (by coke).
Absolutely the best. If anyone knows where you can buy this in the United States, please PM me!
Here's my Stoney story:

As far as Ginger Ales that can be commonly purchased here, I honestly just buy the store-brand stuff since even Canada Dry pales in comparison to Stoney. If you're gonna have lame-o gingle ale, it might as well be the cheapest stuff on the shelf.

Schweppes for me ^
I drink Canada Dry because it's easier to get sometimes, even though my local Von's carries Schweppes as well.
Now if they would have Schweppes Bitter Lemon that would be great

If we are talking Ginger Ale, then it is Kirk's followed by Schweppes. Sadly we can only get it when we go to Australia.
But if we are talking Ginger Beer then it is definitely Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
