Just the other day I came across and bought a bottle of Canadian Iceberg vodka, which I'd been looking for for some time since I read that it scored very high in some tastings. It boasts that's it's made from the water of a 12,000 year old glacier. Be that as it may, I thought it was excellent.

It was on sale deeply discounted, either because it doesn't have a wide reputation or maybe because it was bottled in plastic liter bottles so it looks like mineral water. Anyway, I thought it was quite a bargain.

I'm a big fan of Kirkland Signature Vodka. The only problem is that the bottle is too big to fit in my freezer.

You just need to make about 2 months' supply of jello shots so you can throw the bottle away.

I was given a new vodka to taste Friday nite at dinner. Never heard of it before:

Jean Marc XO.

It was excellent! I highly recommend trying it.

Zing. Jello shots don't last that long in my house.

Mrs. unagi1 and I both like Ketel One and Tito's, the latter of which I have only found in Trader Joe's in the SF Bay Area.

let's talk vodka

I'm a vodka martini guy (please no commentary about how these aren't real martinis - I get it and agree with you; I like the glasses and the olives). I used to be a Grey Goose guy. But recently I've been experimenting with other brands, both at home and in restaurants. I gotta say, Russian Standard is pretty good. Goes down smooth and is reasonably priced. Still like the Goose, but RS is inching up there in my preference profile.

Ketel One and Chopin are also quite good.

What is your vodka of choice? And how do you order it? Martini-style with a twist/olives? Over rocks?

I gotta go with the Burnetts... lol, maybe not for vodka in a martini, but for a mixing vodka it is cheap and good. A favorite summer cooler: Burnetts Pomegranete and Crystal Light lemonade.

As far as better vodkas? I am a Stoli or Three Olives fan.

My preferred way? In lemon drop form. (chilled, sugared rim, and a slice of lemon and then you shot it.)

I've been meaning to try Three Olives. What is the country of origin there? USA?
