Are you a "Foodie" that flies somewhere JUST to eat the best meal?

Sure, many times.
One of the more recent ones was routing a return to Los Angeles, after working in Brisbane, via Copenhagen to eat at Noma and Geranium.

several years ago, I flew from DFW-TPA just to have Dinner at Bern's with a big group of friends..
It's really all I did. Fly to TPA. TPA to nearby hotel. Chill at hotel while others arrived. Hung out with them at hotel until time to go to dinner. We were at Bern's for like 4 hours. Back to hotel. Went to bed. Got up in the morning and went to TPA and flew back to DFW.
It was awesome.

Ah yes, I wonder where the OP went.
I've also gone searching for filming locations of food-focused movies. With a bit of help from the Japan forum and other websites, I made it to the ramenya from Tampopo. Can't feel too bad about not having stumbled upon it on previous Tokyo trips, because it's not near much.
Although it's not a ramenya these days, it wasn't open when I got there. Have to make a second visit now.
