Meh. Considerng the amount of trouble people are willing to go to, they could just pour some ginger beer into smaller bottles.

In-Flight Cocktail Creativity

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with making some great in-flight cocktails using the items available onboard. I've been trying to do this on some recent flights to see creative I can get. I've used chocolate milk for Mudslides, Muddled some lime wedges and sugar for a basic Caparania, and stolen a couple hot sauce packets from the airport food court to make an early morning Bloody Mary. For me it's a game to pass the time, But I was hoping you guys had some ideas of what else to try.

What would happen if you get busted with all the minis?

If they have decent whiskey, I'll just drink that. If I feel like getting fancy, I'll get a bourbon and pour it in a ginger ale, slice of lime of they have it.

Nah. I'm happy with the onboard selection. On my last KL Y flight the F/A was very generous: He took a standard plastic cup, filled it to the half with gin, added lots of ice, a slice of lemon and just a dash of tonic.

My Dad tells a story about coming back from Mexico in the early 70s. Everybody was hungover and somebody was passing around a "crock" (a bottle) of rum. Nobody cared, the FAs didn't care for sure, and my Mother confirmed the story.

The desire to make cocktails? I preferred to have a beer, and as many shots as the FA would serve me. I haven't drank in years, but I've never been somewhere where I want to dilute perfectly good (even if it's cheap brands) liquor with multiple ingredients. When I asked for a rum, I'm not planning to make a surfing eskimo, I'm asking for 45ml of potent, effective liquor.

Now if only I could convince the FA to provide me with grenadine, the one ingredient to a Shirley Temple that I can't find airside. In an airport lounge, I frequently drink OJ mixed with Sprite, but can't get grenadine there either.

Could someone please clarify what exactly is allowed, liquidwise, in the 1-quart ziplock bag? I thought it was a maximum of three containers of liquid, each not exceeding 100 ml. I followed the link in that Thrillist article to what TSA supposedly allows, and it seemed to me to say that only one 100-ml bottle is allowed in the 1-quart bag. Is there a one-bottle limit, or a three-bottle limit, or none? Not that many bottles would fit in a 1-quart bag anyway.

You can put as many bottles as will fit in a one quart ziploc bag. Each bottle should be 100mL max.

https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-...g/liquids-rule

You cannot consume any alcohol on board that was not provided by a flight attendant.

Dems da rules.

Or pay for the front cabin where they will make it for you.

But yeah, beer is easier (and cheaper).

Hate lager, and it’s rare to find any other kind of beer available in the sky.
Other problem with beer is that it would put me in terrible discomfort should we encounter turbulence and the seatbelt sign prohibit access to the toilet

Thankfully, my part Spanish upbringing has bequeathed an appreciation of the

Kalimotxo
1 part red wine to 1 part Cola drink

Makes even the Chinese wines served in Y on the way to/from PEK palatable.

That's a solid option too.
