A nice & big bowl of home style shrimp & meatballs, tofu & noodles soup - clear chicken broth, spring onions topped off with a boiled egg. All by stopping by one of BIL's house to say hi for dinner last night near Co-op City, Bronx - (early) retired chef/owner.

Lovely sunny day here for the first day of spring. So it had to be a BBQ for lunch.

You actually have your own local style parilla? That does look pretty amazing, apart from what looks like bananas - the one food I've always rejected ever since I was a baby.

Most people here have their own either built in the garden or inside.

The banana was grilled with butter, brown sugar and dark rum then served with sabayon ice cream. Shame you don't like them.

Hazelnut Coffee and a Cheese Danish from Panera. Those danishes are addicting.

One of my favorite foods tonight - Cracas - or rock barnacles. Only seem to find them when I come to the Azores. Simply amazing

I was highly excited yesterday to find that Nandos (legendary chicken chain from South Africa) now delivers to my flat.

I was less excited to find they'd forgotten the chicken from my first order.

Ceviche for din.

I used
1/2 corvina, 1/2 salmon, sweet onion, shiitake mushrooms, roasted kabocha, sweet bell pepper, some chili, lemon, lime, and a few seasonings.

Put on a bed of greens.

She asked for a really simple stir-fry. Nothing fancy. I complied.
