I'm really looking forward to New Year's this year. We'll be celebrating with family and two nice bottles -- Krug Grand Cuvee NV and Dom Perginon 1996. Happy New Year all FTers!

Sounds nice. It's always great to spend a hliday with friends and family and a few nice bottles of chanpagne. New Years and Christmas are my favorite holidays. So have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to everyone at Flyertalk.

A bottle of Pol Roger '96 is going to go down very, very nicely on Christmas morning. For any London based FT'ers that enjoy full bodied champagne, but don't want to pay silly money, Berry Bros have a fantastic own label '96 vintage for a bargain GBP23.

Yep, here in Burgundy (which is just down the road from Champagne) we call it Bourgogne Cremant and it is every bit as good as Champagne at much less the cost. I've had some very, very good Cremant's, but none of them are well known and few even sold outside of Burgundy.

Any input on Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut? I've got to admit, I bought it for the pretty label... Looking forward to a quiet drink at mindnight under the Christmas tree after all the church, presents, baking, running around that tomorrow will involve...

My wife and I will be having New Year's Eve dinner at Nobu Malibu, and I will be toting along either a Le Grande Dame 1995 (down to 5 bottles), a Duval Leroy Blanc de Blanc 1996 (our wedding Champagne), or a Bollinger Grand Annee 1990 (last bottle left).

I dont have a lot of experience with different champagnes but I really like Henkell Trocken. Its a German Sekt. Its certainly not very expensive but has a nice taste. Anyone else like German Sekt?
