Cherry Coke and a decent vanilla ice cream previously prepared by stirring a quality cherry compote through it and putting it back in the freezer.

It's the only time I ever drink Cherry Coke - nasty stuff!

Coke a Cola with vanilla. Preferably DQ soft serve but that costs more per serving than something made at home.

And now for something completely different:

I really enjoy lime sherbet with 7-Up. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. Try it. ^

Oh, the horror of it all!

Dark memories - make that nightmares - of childhood birthday parties and social occasions (late 40s/early 50s), when the tipple (not of choice but de regueur) was 7Up or Ginger Ale mixed with lime sherbe(r)t in a punch bowl, the top floated with maraschino cherries. No wonder I turned to beer and stronger at 14.

At Hershey Park in 1995, I had a delectable Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby with Root Beer Float. I'd have it another way, but I'd much much prefer that 'un.

For a quick float, I like Bryers French Vanilla floated in Coke, with a bit of maraschino cherry juice added, and a cherry on top.

But I prefer a milk shake to a float. my favorite is butter pecan ice cream, a bit of whole milk, some ahersheys chocolate syrup (preferably canned, it has a different flavor than the plastic bottled), and a splash of maraschino cherry juice. Yum!
