These have been already mentioned but just to throw in my vote...
I find a number of products under President's Choice (aka PC) at Real Canadian Superstore, Kirkland at Costco, and Trader Joe's to be better than name brand stuff so I don't hesitate on trying different products under those labels.

I haven't seen them in a while, but the President's Choice (I think they were called Decadent) Chocolate Chip cookies are the best packaged chocolate chip cookie I've ever had - and better than many bakeries. They used to sell them at Jewel in Chicago when they were still owned by Albertson's.

I'll support and probably love almost anything Kirkland... Costco rocks.

WalMart has a frozen pizza called World Table. The Sicilian is very good.
We always have an emergency pizza on hand, but we seem to be calling for emergencies more often than in the past with these yummy things.

The Kroger Blended and Fruit on the Bottom yogurts are both quite good and I prefer them to Dannon/Yoplait.

Off topic, but why why why do international food producers (such as Danone and Yoplait and Maggi and Knorr and many others) put so much crap in the US version of products?? I can understand adjusting certain things for taste, but they are completely different products much of the time, even if called something similar.

That is one reason why almost all of my grocery shopping in the US occurs at Trader Joe's, and one reason why I often find generics better than brand name in the US.

I'll take this opportunity to plug the Kirkland brand margarita mix over Jose Cuervo or any other pre-made mix. If you're gonna go the pre-made mix route, Kirkland wins hands-down, in my opinion. Not too sweet, not too sour, a good lime taste to it.

One particular store brand that is unquestionably better than the nationals is Trader Joe's Greek yoghurt. I think Fage even makes it, but the TJ's version has higher protein content and more tang.

I loved TJ's store brand oatmeal, but you rarely see it anymore.

Also a big fan of Kirkland Signature Chelsea toilet paper. Much preferred to nationals or other store brands.

Totally agree with this. It is part of the reason I keep my membership.

I'm another big TJ's fan.

I am going to get roasted for this but in the UK I find the Jaffa Cakes sold by Aldi (the regular size ones) are better than the original McVitie's Jaffa Cakes.... sorry

In the U.S., I don't even know what that means!

They are a type of 'Cookie' (US terms, Sorry Brits I'm of the biscuit camp on them too) Closest thing I can think of would be take an Oreo Cakester and remove the cream filling and add orange jelly and a chocolate topping.

They are good with a cuppa tea.

The 'original' as well as the Bahlsen style and LU Jaffa cake give me heartburn. Store brand does not.

Which brings me to Monoprix and Casino cookies (French store brands). I thought that the Casino chocolate assortment would be the same generic made by Belgian Delacre, but was surprised to find them made in Germany. I also like Monoprix house brand crackers over non-house brand.

I miss Jaffa cakes! But then again, my waistline does not!! They are good tho. We get some faux ones over here, there is a Polish brand that are good (and have raspberry ones!) and a Belgian brand which have nice chocolate.
