Cariboo Genuine Lager from Prince George, B.C.'s Pacific Western Brewing. Nice taste from a non-craft value beer brand I chose as they donate a portion of their profits to reforestation in B.C.

Hopworks IPA
A new IPA (for me) that I really like is from Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), Portland, OR. First saw it at Costco (<$4) in a bomber. Not as citrusy as some IPAs which is fine with me. Yum, yum. If you live in the NW you can find it at some Costcos, Whole Foods & some Fred Meyers.

Stopped by a new, local microbrewery yesterday: Black Cap Brewing. Had a very enjoyable Hop Scramble IPA and Mr. Kipper enjoyed Postmaster's Series #5 DIPA.

New Belgium was the August brewer of the month at The Brass Tap and I tried a few limited editions as we get ready to move into September. I did not care for the Fat Sour Apple ale, or I should say I was disappointed with the overly mild apple flavor. The Heavy Melon was the opposite, too much watermelon flavor. Fruit Fly was my favorite and then I switched to Narragansett for the sake of nostalgia. I was surprised that I actually liked it. I drank it as a teenager but didn't really recall the spicy notes there in the background. Not bad at all for a traditional local beer. I would do it again except I'm on track to drink 300 different beers there and hate to drink the same one twice until I've reached my goal.

Come to HSV and try Straight to Ale's Watermelon Wheat for a better version. Since I'm not a huge fan of watermelon flavor, I prefer their subtler approach. Yes, you taste the watermelon, but no, it's less like sitting in the front row at a Gallagher show.

Crispin Cider
Fairly good, not too tart. Found 16 oz cans, one of which was about right for watching a game in the hotel room. and didn't have to mess around with trying to haul the rest of a six pack

Discovered some Ballast Point Homework Series 7 in my beer store yesterday. After a good nights chill, they were just delicious. Will return for moooore.
