Either they're going to kill the cards completely for everyone or the initial AF credits were actually a mistake after all (and were given to everyone else out of fairness). Whatever the case, an AF credit is always one of the best forms of retention offer.

Diners Club says:
Due to an error on our part in not disclosing that the fee was to be charged, it has been credited back to you as a courtesy. Please take this gesture as our apology for not informing you that the fee was to be charged

Well, I didn't get a refund of my annual fee of $95. I have a regular card that I've had since 1994 ("professional"?). It was charged formally on October 30, 2015. The statement closed mid-November, and is due in mid-December.

I think the billing mistake was just on the consumer cards, not the others. Though it is weird that they think the lack of pre-notification is a problem--Chase never notified me before charging me the AF for instance (unless it's in the bill PDF that I don't normally look at).

Citi includes a notice like this on PDF/printed statements:
...but I do not specifically recall other issuers doing the same.
Your account has an annual membership fee of $450.00 which will appear on
your next billing statement.
your next billing statement.

Just checked my CSP's statements and Chase seems to do that as well. It does seem to be a bit silly to have to disclose yearly though since the AF was disclosed during the app process, but I'm not going to complain about getting it waived.

Actually, it might be wrong to call the charge "Annual Fee", item on the statement says: "Club Rewards Fee $75.00"

I think your employer pays the fee (if any) for the Corporate card itself, and you pay $75 to participate in Club Rewards. Do you also pay a fee for the Professional card?

You're probably right. I get corporate card for free (at least for me), but no points for spend unless I also apply for professional, in which case I get CR points for spend on both cards and $75 fee.
