There have been a lot of posts lately asking about whether or not their plane has AVOD, in-seat power, etc., so I think this would be a great addition to our forum's FAQ.
What I've done is I've gone ahead and listed out each plane in the DL and NW fleet, some defining characteristic of it and commented on any in-flight features.
Native Delta Metal as of March 5, 2009
Boeing 737-700 (12 seats in First, Rows 1-3; 112 seats in Coach, Rows 10-28)
- All seats have seatback televisions (PTVs) with on-demand entertainment (AVOD). 18 channels of LiveTV on these planes.
- First Class has 110V AC power outlets in the armrest console
Boeing 737-800 (16 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 144 seats in Coach, Rows 10-33)
- First Class has 110V AC power outlets in the armrest console
- 28 planes have PTVs and AVOD at all 160 seats (including LiveTV)
- 43 planes have overhead LCD monitors in both classes
- If the plane is coded as a 73H in the downloadable timetable (
link here), it will have PTVs/AVOD.
Boeing 757-200, standard domestic configuration (24 seats in First, Rows 1-6; 159 seats in Coach, Rows 19-45)
- There is no inseat power on this plane
- There are overhead CRT monitors over the center aisle on this plane.
Boeing 757-200, domestic ETOPS configuration (22 seats in First, Rows 1-6, no seats 6A/B; 159 seats in Coach, Rows 19-45)
- There is no inseat power on this plane
- There are overhead CRT monitors over the center aisle on this plane.
- For those in First, there are footrests on this plane; there is also a little bit more legroom in the A/B seats in First Class
Boeing 757-200, transcontinental configuration (26 seats in First, Rows 1-7; 158 seats in Coach, Rows 18-44 - Row 18 is only seats D/E)
- There are PTVs/AVOD at every seat on this plane (including LiveTV)
- There is 110V AC power at each First Class seat, in the center console
Boeing 757-200, trans-Atlantic configuration/ex-TWA plane (16 seats in BusinessElite, Rows 1-4; 158 seats in Coach, Rows 18-44 - there is an exit row at Row 36)
- There are PTVs/AVOD at every seat on this plane. There is
no LiveTV.
- There are 110V AC outlets at each seat in BusinessElite, as well as in Rows 18-28 of Coach
Boeing 767-300 Domestic Configuration (24 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 238 seats in Coach, Rows 10-47)

McDonnell Douglas MD-88 (14 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 128 seats in Coach, Rows 10-38)
- There is no In-Flight Entertainment on these planes in either cabin.
- There is no inseat power on these planes in either cabin.
- All planes have GoGo Wi-Fi Service
McDonnell Douglas MD-90 (12 seats in First, Rows 1-3; 138 seats in Coach, Rows 10-39)
- There is no inseat power on these planes in either cabin.
- There are overhead LCD monitors that pop down from the overhead bins on these planes in both cabins.
- All planes have GoGo Wi-Fi Service
Delta Connection - All Planes (this includes any CRJ-100, CRJ-200, CRJ-700, CRJ-900, EMB-120, ERJ-145, EMB-170, EMB-175, Saab 340, etc.)
- There is no inseat power or in-flight entertainment on these planes.
Native Northwest metal (as of March 5, 2009)
Airbus A319-100 (16 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 108 seats in Coach, Rows 5-22)
- There is no inseat power on these planes
- There is no in-flight entertainment on these planes.
Airbus A320-200 (16 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 132 seats in Coach, Rows 5-26)
- There is no inseat power on these planes
- There is no in-flight entertainment on these planes.
Airbus A330-200 (32 seats in World Business Class, Rows 1-6; 211 seats in Coach, Rows 10-42)
- There are PTVs with AVOD at every seat on this plane
- There are 110V AC/75W outlets at all World Business Class seats, as well as in Rows 10-23 in Coach.
- There is a feature in WBC to send short SMS texts and emails for a fee.
Airbus A330-300 (34 seats in World Business Class, Rows 1-6; 264 seats in Coach, Rows 10-44)
- There are PTVs with AVOD at every seat on this plane
- There are 110V AC/75W outlets at all World Business Class seats, as well as in Rows 10-28 in Coach.

note: these planes do operate some of the Pacific routes out of Tokyo/Narita, despite them being called Atlantic Configuration...

McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30/40/50 (16 seats in First, Rows 1-4; 84/94/109 seats in Coach, Rows 5-21/23/26 depending on configuration)
- There is no inseat power on these planes
- There is no in-flight entertainment on these planes.
All Northwest Airlink planes (Saab 340, CRJ-200, CRJ-900, EMB-175)
- There is no inseat power on these planes
- There is no in-flight entertainment on these planes.
That should pretty much cover it for the merged airline. Please let me know if I've made any oversights and I'll correct them
