Stealth Award Chart Enhancement

And it's actually an enhancement.

Hawaii to Southeast Asia. Low economy awards are 25k each way (down from 40k) and Low BE awards are 40k each way (down from 60k).

If low is available, this could make a stopover in HNL on the was to Asia look quite attractive.

US-Asia with a stopover in HNL is still US-Asia. It has nothing to do with award pricing between HNL-Asia.

Someone used this recently to get a one-way to SE Asia for 85K. Book the outbound in low J from the mainland to SE Asia, but book the return in low Y to HNL and just no-show it. HNL is positioned appropriately that for most, if not all, of SE Asia this trick works for the entire US.

I don't doubt it.

Makes me remember that I have to go back and finish my tool that checks all the award charts for changes. I have a few charts done but not all of them.

Why is Mongolia in Southeast Asia, not Northern Asia?

Regardless, glad to see my dream Hawaii-Dushanbe flight will only cost me 50K now...

Interesting combination if one were to use BA Avios points on AA for LAX-HNL at 25K miles and HNL-SE Asia use DL SM for 50K, so total would be 75K miles RT to SE Asia, with a free stopover in HI.

But I wouldnt redeem miles for Y except for BA miles.
That's a waste when I can go almost anywhere in Y paid for by company assuming they want me there.

Presumably North Asia is that which DL can get to "cheaply" out of NRT (adjusted for market needs).

The real question would be why is Mongolia not in Europe per DL's world view?

Does anyone have the old award charts stored somewhere?

US to N-Asia is 70K in Economy, and to S-Asia is 80K. Are these the same?

Yes, no change to the US charts... At least when I checked this afternoon.

This only works if you don't want a stopover anywhere else.

That is not an enhancement. It used to be 20K/35K. It was recently increased to 25K/40K. However, there was an error whereby it was wrongly listed as 40K/60K on the Hawaii chart (but correctly listed on the SE Asia chart as 25K/40K all along). Now finally this discrepancy is corrected. But, it is not an improvement. It's still a devaluation of what used to be until a few months ago 20K/35K now being 25K/40K. It was just published wrong (on HI, but not on SE Asia) chart since the new dulta.com went up (on the old site it was correct and consistent on both charts, ever since the devaluation to 25K/40K); that is now fixed. That's all...but nothing new here, no change (not since the few months ago devaluation on this), just correcting one of the countless careless mistakes of misinformation on the new site.
