George Bush International Club Access

I will be flying on Delta in First Class round trip to and from Houston--Atlanta in a month or so. I have a Delta Sky Club Membership, plus a Platinum American Express Card (which gives you access to other airline clubs on the day of travel on their airlines (e.g. United) and I just signed up for one of these world wide club access memberships through an advertisement I received that offers you access to airline clubs throughout the world (somehow connected with American Express).

I am wondering what Delta Medallion or Business Class/First Class flyers do when they are flying in and out of Houston for lounge access? I see that there are lounges for KLM, Air France and United. The KLM lounge info. states that they allow entrance for a small fee (USD $ 30 to $ 50 (doesn't sound all that small to me!). Air France's website doesn't say anything at all and may be all the way out of range of where Delta's Flights are so it may not be worth the walk or the wait.

Does anyone have any experience flying in and out of Houston on Delta and the lounge situation?

Thanks.

You should be able to access the KLM lounge with the Delta SkyClub Membership card. But as with all partner lounges, sometimes they just ignore the rules and won't let you in.
The downside is Delta flights leave from Terminal A and the KLM lounge is in Terminal D. You can get between the terminals airside via the TerminaLink train.

George Bush International Club Access

Also, the KLM Lounge operates around the IAH-AMS schedule. Not open all day. I have found it locked up and dark more than once.

Mrs. BHart had a layover in IAH when forced to fly UA recently, she was going to make use of our SC membership but the KLM lounge does indeed operate on a much different schedule. I can't recall the time she was trying to get in but it was locked when she went.

I fly into Houston 15+ times per year, and rarely bother with a club. I can generally find a quiet place at the end of A (past the little wine bar place) with a power outlet and space. When I do need a club, though, I pay the $50 for the one-day pass to the United Club in A. It's small, and not really all that comfortable, but it's okay if I need to be on a call or something.

Oh - if you're Pre Check, remember to go through security at C and then take the Terminal Link to A. Much better than A's handsy TSA agents.

Yes. Now it is Delta, American and US. DL and AA require same-day ticket on either of them. US does not have the ticket requirement.

I am confident that George Bush receives International Club Access.

If you have the Priority Pass that if not offered free with the AmEx Plat card--i.e., the regular one and not Select--it should be good for the UA lounges. IIRC there's a small but nice and new one near the DL gates. The KLM and AF lounges are farther away IIRC.

I really enjoyed the IAH KLM lounge the one time I found it open. Quite the food selection and an open bar. Lounge dragons were very svelte - overall it didn't feel like I was in Texas, or the US for that matter.

That's what I found when I tried to go there last week for the first time.

I was there at about 5:00pm Friday and had a 6:35pm flight. It was locked up tight and the sign on the door said it would be open at 1:00.

Howste is right. I've found no actual schedule that I could count on. Good luck! Its small, but looked quite nice. Plenty of tables in the food area of A to get some workspace if needed (but headphones aren't a bad idea).
