Delta is building a rather large focus city in IND with non-stop flights to LAX and quite a few eastern cities and of course to the hubs.

IND is a pretty new looking airport with a nice SkyClub.

When is your RDU-LAX flight, IIRC they recently made it daily beginning in April (?). May be worth looking to see if the non-stop is available on your dates.

Shuttle America and Compass both fly the E170/175s and have for a number of years. Many of the RDU-MSP flights are on Compass E175s. They are very comfortable AC both in F and Y and, IMO, Compass FAs are on par with SkyWest in terms of service quality.

I'm not sure I'd say they're building anything at IND, their footprint is considerably smaller than the NW focus city they inherited. I'm not suggesting that's good or bad (obviously not good for IND flyers), but it is true.

Interesting statements. It's an airport, they fly there...they can connect.

It looks new because it is.

Delta is basically stable at IND and has been for a while. NW built it up in an effort to put ATA out of business and it worked. They did lose some routes in the merger but they would have lost those at some point anyway. Delta still has the largest market share at IND. WN is second and is first if only mainline is counted.

I flew on a Compass E175 last week in F. A nice ride with very good service on a short flight. A very nice airplane overall, not at all comparable to a CRJ -- not even close.

Totally agree a big +1. I changed jobs and was sad to leave IND- great airport, great club, great city. DL are the number 1 airline out of there.

I don't disagree with that, and I'm certainly not suggesting DL did anything NW may not have done anyway. I was just responding to the previous statement that made it sound like DL was in the process of building something more grand than what it really is.

Agreed. They aren't building anything at the moment...simply stable and it is down a little bit from the merger.

Layover in indiana?

Note that the SC is land side, but security is very quick at IND. SC often has Woodford, one of the few SCs that does.

Haven't been to the new IND terminal yet, but delta.com says the SC is airside, not landside (which is what you would expect with a new terminal).
