Is this possible? I was looking on the delta.com site and every single date from July to December is medium. Is it possible to find a FC ticket in the low category for a low price? Would I be better off flying a partner airline? If I do fly a partner airline who do I contact to use my miles?

You likely will find very few if any FC low award tickets on Delta. You'll have a nearly equally difficult time finding coach award tickets in Low. The best bet is to use Alaska partner inventory which is usually bookable online, but it won't show up on the calender. You have to look at each individual date.

Hawaii is only the #1 mileage burn destination that Delta flies so it is very difficult to find low availability. There is a ton of demand for award seats to Hawaii and delta knows that so they decide to limit low level redemption quite significantly. In F, you will likely only be able to find availability from west coast cities to HNL. ATL-HNL just won't happen. AS has alright availability to Hawaii and you can book them with DL miles....however I would opt to pay more miles and fly the 330 from ATL or an international 767 from LAX.

SLC HNL I have seen Low in January though.

Do I look on Alaska's site to do this? Do I need to call them?

Only have ~180k miles. Trying for 2 tickets. What fare class would I have to buy to upgrade?

Lots of threads on this. Hawaii is very difficult to find any low, let alone in F (esp on the ATL-HNL route). Keep looking, but don't bet your vakay on it. Best bet is buy K fare and use SWU.

Yes, AS website has a functional award calendar. Just look for their low and it should equate to DL low. You can then search by schedule on DL to book.

You need to buy a K fare to upgrade with miles or SWU. We're going in Feb and I gave up on trying to use my SWUs; four of them will expire unused at the end of Feb, but I digress........
I eventually gave up. Instead, I booked my husband in F on the ATL-HNL (180,000 miles) and paid for my ticket when I saw a quick dip for an A fare and since then the fares have been higher.
Good luck!

That's not an excuse. I'm sure Hawaii is a #1 mileage burn destination on any US airline, yet UA offers 2 premium cabin awards on every single date September to November, and upwards of 20-25 days each month July-August. It has less to do with it being Hawaii, and much more to do with Delta being tight with FF awards in general.
