I just received someone else's itin in my e-mail...

Is it me - I suddenly received an itin. from Delta.com complete with purchase details and confirmation number.

Someone else's, not mine.

Am I alone in this?

Couldn't hurt to change your SM password.

I hit reply, responding to DL with an e-mail right away - huffy huffy puffy, well.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

This is completely unacceptable. You sent me someone's confirmation e-mail, complete with payment and itin information - this is a security lapse that cannot be tolerated.

I have contacted Dr Prob** about the situation, and I am certain that he would share my sentiments about sending someone else's itin. to another stranger for no reason. I would like to also check if my account has been compromised. Please kindly advise and address this situation as soon as possible.

Faithfully Yours,

currentjer

Keep in mind that it's entirely possible that someone mis-typed an email address, either at the time of purchase or later, in requesting the receipt. In requesting copies of DL receipts, I've done this at least once.

Can't be - guy's a DM, purchase instantly gets sent to e-mail on file. A requested receipt looks a whole lot different.

Is it possible that the owner of the ticket could have mis-typed his/her own email address and it became yours by mistake? Such a coincidence is not DL's fault.

It was so quiet for a little while there....

Anywho, OP. X'ing out the details, can you post a copy of the email you got? I'm inclined to agree with Rene, that it's a phishing scam.

I know. I can read

However, any decent phishing and hacking scheme can take information from your own personal computer, and distribute from an email list block just looking to take your information.

That's why I was curious to see what the actual email looked like.
