How to tell where a plane previous destination was

We are heading to Disney scheduled to fly DL 1959 JFK-MCO tomorrow (Thursday 27th) at 8:10. This looks to be right in the middle of the storm. However, the hour by hour weather report, just shows cloudy as of now for 8am tomorrow. Is there anyway to check to see where my plane is right now? Where is it coming from to JFK?

Also, i called to see if I could get out tonight. They could have split my family on two flights, both out of LGA however tonight, 2 of us around 3:50 and the other three around 7:00. But the weather forecast looks rainy and windy, and I am afraid that those flights will be cancelled. Is my current itinerary a better chance of getting out?

Ugh...I live in Zone A and was walloped by Sandy. We had to cancel our family vacation from a month ago to this trip.

Normally FlightAware will tell you, but in this case it is wrong.

With a lot of cancellatons, there may well be reroutings of equipment. What's scheduled to constitute that JFK-MCO flight may not wind up being what they use. I'd suggest you skip the local weather forecast and look at the airport's Terminal Area Forecast (TAF) which will give far more specific data about forecast winds, ceiling and visibility. Google "JFK TAF" to get it.

Seems like the storm will pass through NYC from tonight until tomorrow mid day. Why not reschedule for a Thursday night or Friday morning departure?

Actually if you know how to read flightaware it gives you the correct information

DL1959 is a RON aircraft that flew in as DL268 (ATL-JFK). The aircraft that operates DL268 comes from Baltimore as DL 1306 which comes from Minneapolis as DL1762 and that flight looks like it is on time

If it changes it is still likely an RON aircraft. Today appears to be the exception to the rule (probably aircraft today went mechanical or they needed the aircraft to cover for another flight and the first aircraft available was the one doing the first MIA-JFK flight)

uttering United

Seems like everyone is uttering the feature available on Skyteam's previous partner Continental(now United).

Hope someday DL IT will include this features, "Where is this aircraft coming from"...

UA dropped some of the CO online features when they merged, but thank goodness this one was kept. Very helpful sometimes! Too bad DL doesn't have something similar.

I find FlightAware to be easy to use for this purpose and it's free too. When it's wrong, this is usually very obvious.

Enter your airline and flight number to pull up the details for your flight; you might need to scroll down and click on the right date. Then toward the top of the screen, just to the right of the flight number and times, you can click on something like "track incoming aircraft."
