Boarding and Bags for my family of 5

So, we leave for a Disney trip on the 27th. I booked my ticket with credits I had coming and booked the other four in my family with points. I got an upgrade and will give it to the wife, being it's her birthday and all. My questions:

1) where in the boarding process can all five of us board together?

2) can we all go through priority security?

3) I have a delta Amex plat, which has free bags for me and my party, but since my res was booked separately, can I still get free checked bags for them?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

What I have done in the past when I have an UG and others are in Y is wait until Sky is called. At that point let the FA know your wife is taking your seat and you will be sitting in Y with kids.

Yes, if you are Gold or above.

As long as you are traveling together with the same itinerary being on different PNRs is okay.

I'm not sure this is accurate information. Only people on the same reservation are entitled to the free checked bag with the DL Plat Amex. You may be able to talk your way into free checked bags but I don't think it's supposed to work.

As a GM you get a free checked bag, as a DL Plat Amex holder you get another checked bag free so that's at least 2.

Call delta and have them link your pnr, this way everybody gets your luggage benefits. You have to check in at the airport for them to get their luggage fees waived

He said they are split reservations, so no go.

No such thing. Just check as many bags as yourself as possible.

I have never had a problem extending my free checked baggage to family on separate pnr's. It's a simple computer click for the agent. Also, you didn't specify the age of the kids, but if they're young, then you can all preboard together. If not young, then I'd just ask the GA before boarding where they want you to board and explain. They may tell you Sky, or they may tell you something else. Sky Priority shouldn't be a problem all going through together.

Seriously? This is good info. I would love to fly on a paid seat and use miles for my wife and still get the baggage benefits from my medallion status and amex benefit.

DL is one of the legacy carriers that doesn't do a lot of pre-boarding with children for flights into/out of MCO ('kid-central'), otherwise more than half the flight would pre-board.

And regarding the baggage issues, you may want to max out your free allotment (as having received the UG) before doing anything else.

I'm not sure where you get your information from but I, and many people on this forum, can attest that linking the pnr extends the baggage fee waiver to everyone flying with you when you check in at the airport.
Sometimes they'll even waive it if your just flying together even if the pnr isn't linkef

Domestic first is three bags @70lbs each whether you paid or upgraded.

I had the "different PNR/same itinerary" baggage allowance interpeted both ways by TAs at check in. YMMV

Linking the PNRs won't do you any good with getting the bag allowance to the rest of your family...it clearly states it's for up to 9 people in YOUR reservation ONLY.

...However, in my experience, by asking nicely, agents will grant a free bag to others in your party even if on a different PNR but same flight. My wife and I have experienced this before...the agent did ask if we had the same last name (which we do) but I'm not sure that would be the deciding factor.

I too think that the rules say only those in your PNR/reservation get the free bags. But many TA's will extend the courtesy to others traveling with you.

I would not ask the GA about when to board. I would just board with SP.

This is what I was going to say. You should be good with this, and with a couple of full sized carry-on bags you can probably get everything you need on board. Since you'll be boarding early, overhead space shouldn't be an issue.
