Need to make it to PM (13K miles)! How?

Hey all,
I live in ATL and thought I would have made it to PM, but am 13K miles short. I will fly to Austin, TX nxt week for a wedding. But how do I make it to PM? seems so short, but so far away. Lol

Thanks in advance for your help. Have a great holiday.

Amy

Many threads on this in the last few weeks.

Buy MQM's 10K for $995. plus your austin trip will get you there.

or book a Mileage run but you only have a few days left and all travel must be completed by 12/31/2012 11:59 PM.

Good luck & Welcome to Flyertalk!

purchase MQMa

http://dn.delta.com/skymiles/purchasemqms/buy/landing

It looks like one can purchase up to 10,000 MQM, but it's not cheap.

oops - simultaneous post

I just made DM.......I booked a couple cross country mileage runs and paid for M fare and got 150% mqm........that really helped me. Of course you are a bit short on time now. But that's what I did

Good luck! PM was worth it by the way

I am waiting for someone to post on 12/31 that they are 10,001 MQM short and need something more than buying MQMs to make their desired status level.

OP, unless you can schedule that many miles worth of flights before the end of the year (50% bonus MQM on first class or Y, B or M economy fares), you don't have much choice but to buy the MQMs.

I think there might be time for either a normal or biz reserve card ($450), you should get 10k MQM based on the date of the first purchase...assuming you don't already have it or one of it's sister AMEX products. I received my card 3 days after I ordered it, but the clock is ticking....

ATL-AUS is only 1626 roundtrip. That plus 10K will still leave OP short.

I think people can stop suggesting the Platinum or Reserve Amex. There just isn't enough time to get it in the mail and actually get a purchase that will post prior to December 31. Only about 4 or 5 business days left in the year

Right. My bad. I was thinking JFK-AUS which is what I've flown many times. So OP has to buy 10k plus AUS and something else.

Not to hate on OP but who makes the revelation that damn I'm 13k short of PM on December 21st?? I mean seriously. If you can't plan your travel mqm accumulation better than that you don't deserve to be in the PM club. Just saying.

Almost. You can have a scheduled take off before that time and you can arrive much later on Jan 1.

Not exactly accurate. What counts is the scheduled departure time. Travel need not be completed by midnight.
