Let the holiday kettling begin!

Holy moly.

Sitting at the Sky Club at LAX right now. Kettles all over the place, no seats available. People sprawled out across the floor yelling on their cell phones.

Let the holiday travels begin!

In other news, the Sky Club desk didn't try to sell me on membership for 2013!

Was there 6AM and I only had to deal with construction crew members splayed on the ground.

At least you're not flying Southwest.

i'm heading to EWR in a little bit and that club is already jam packed on a normal day. So I'm fearful of what the DYKWIA and his family of 8 will be up to in the SC today. our father, who art in heaven..

in other news my outbound flight was just delayed 1hr 15 mins. Looks like I'll have extra time at the SC today. oh joy joy

In a week, I will have two kettles in tow and at least on the way back, we will be hitting one of the ATL Skyclubs.

That may not be true - if they check in on line, they oftentimes get the "buy a pass for a discounted amount" opportunity. And hey - if you only travel once a year, let's go for it!

Am in ATL now at the A17 Sky Club...

Now this is more like it... Pretty much nobody here/no kettles.

Nice and quiet.

Yeah. Really. I am surprised.

Bartenders pour very well too.

I personally expect the holidays to have fewer people in lounges. More people traveling, sure, but a lot of business travelers are going to be staying put instead of traveling.

Weather issues aside, I also tend to expect better upgrade percentage.

While that makes a ton of sense, LAX today was the worst that I have ever seen it. Not to mention poor etiquette with the patrons in there.

ATL A17 however is a different story. It is perfect in here. How a Sky Club should be (reminds me of the Alaska club at SEA)

There were 44 people on the upgrade list at LAX. Currently, there are 14 on the list to FLL. That's quite a bit from ATL > FLL that are medallions.

This was a great week for gate lice. I hear the Chicago "Clubs" were a lot of fun yesterday too...

ATL was not too bad in any of the Crown Rooms... just lots of people blocking the walking area on the concourse. Lots of oversold flights and people being told they were not getting home for a few days due to WX and oversold flights...

ATL T6 at 1 pm was kettle heaven. No seats, no one knew they had to sure their AmEx cards to get in...all around meh.

I have observed this type among my friends, even today...main point of evidence is they bought premium drinks...and likely paid for a day pass.

If those folks keep the drinks free for the rest of us, Cheers!

P.S. my preferred term for occasional travelers is the DGOMCs - the Don't Get Out Much Crowd.
