Domestic Departure from ATL Terminal F?

Howdy,

I've got a domestic flight this evening from ATL>COS, current gate status is showing gate F4 which I find a little odd.

Since opening, has anyone seen domestic departures from the F terminal, or is this just a placeholder gate number until they update it?

Much thanks

Yes, I've seen domestic departures from F.

Hi,

Looking at the flight status page on the ATL airport website, it does seem to happen. Just remember to check in at the domestic terminal and then ride the train all the way to F. (And yes, gates can still change ...)

Cheers,

Thanks guys.

If the gate assignment holds up, the 738 is going to look cute next to the widebodies. At least I'll get to check out the new SC in F

I had a departure on a 737-700 to EWR from the F gates a few weeks ago. When you checkout the new SC, make sure to check out the "Loft" area.

The aircraft for DL2117 is coming in right now from BDA hence why it is arriving at F4

Out of curiousity are you still FO and did you get upgraded ATL-COS? I never missed an ATL-COS or COS-ATL upgrade as an FO.

Still FO.

I found a goofy fare with A on the way out, and Q on the way back. That flight used to be on 752s, which I've had a 100% success rate on with upgrades this year. Now that it's on a 738 with 8 fewer F seats, I'll let you know if I get bumped on the way home. Gotta love the 0630 departure on the way back

Makes sense, I didn't think to check that.

BDA is a pre-clearance location so the flight from BDA could arrive at any of the terminals as inbound passengers are treated as domestic arrivals.

ATL-LAX on the 77L nearly always leaves from F.

Domestic passengers can clear through security at F; you do not necessarily need to enter through the domestic terminal.

Can domestic passengers currently check in with an agent in F and drop a bag?

That I don't know. I have passed through security for domestic flights a number of times at F but I had only carry-on bags.
