Last night achieved DM status in a pretty lousy manner. Flew my 140th segment of the year on a small regional carrier; stifling hot, cramped seats, no beverage service, no peanuts. I think my rear end has permanently taken the shape of a CRJ200 seat. Here's to all the other poor schlubs like me who get their medallion status through way too many segments via small planes, missed connections, runs through airports, and canceled flights. I salute you!
wow, that is certainly a tough grind. I love to travel still, but I think that would rapidly change if I were qualifying for PM, let alone DM, on segments!
Maybe DL should add a choice benefit for a couple sessions at the chiropractor if you hit DM on segments
Holy cow! I guess that's one way... I make the 2 hour drive to the big airport and endure the TSA groping to avoid flying out on our small-town CRJ's every week.

Impressive. Hitting GM on segments this year will be painful enough... I can't even imagine.

Dude!!!
I FEEL your pain (to quote Slick Willy).
Used to same the same thing while I was flying UA. Having switched to US Air, now my butt is on a CRJ900 ALWAYS sitting in first class which is the ONLY way to fly if you gotta take an RJ (-;

Wow... 140 segments... thats amazing. Assuming the process of driving to the airport/parking/security/etc takes 1 hour per flight you spent 6 full days just getting to your flights. Let alone flight time... Delta should buy you one of those massage chairs to go in your house.

me too
YTD 168 DL segments, almost exactly half of which were 45 minutes on a SkyWest CRJ200 SGU-SLC & reverse. That pain has been balanced out by my almost 100% UGs on the other segments, which are mostly CRJ900s and CRJ700s, with a few 319/320s, 737s, and 757s DL mainline in the mix.
Only 93K MQMs in those 168 segments. We segment flyers deserve to get rollover segments!
Congrats!!!!! I am also a segment flyer. For us little people, the roll over MQM are meanlingless. I am barely over 75K but here I sit with 128 segments. When I calculated my year-end trips I realized I was going to be 4 segments short of DM. I guess a segment run is in order as I will at least score the extra gifts and SC access.

I am sure he is doing multiple leg runs. All mine are 2-3 segment and after my CRJ 200 flight in 1 hour I will be at 175 segments this year. Feel your pain leftwindowseat.
