DL BE to Seoul or Korean Prestige?

I'm looking at Biz seats for January.
I'm not familiar with Korean's service.

The two routes I'm looking at are DCA-DTW-ICN (all DL) BE leg on a 777
Or
Korean A380 IAD-ICN.

Any thoughts on the differences on these particular aircraft?
The DL option is definitely the better fare.

I think all would agree that KE's service is better, it really is a premium carrier.

Whether that (plus non-stop on the 380) is worth the price differential is your call.

Well the DL 777 certainly is a nice ride, but yeah KE service on the 380 would be better. Seats are fairly equal with the new Cosmo sleeper seats on the A380. My only complaint with KE is they keep the cabin to warm.

If its a significant price difference I'd go with the DL metal.

I've flown KE several times both in 1st and business, mostly on the GRU-LAX route and the service is very good. I would opt for KE over DL, especially on the new A380.

I'd normally say the KE flight, especially the A380 nonstop, but it does require you to go through IAD and the DL 777 in BE is wonderful with the 1-2-1 seating that seems suitelike to me.

Remember that on KE, you'll be in biz, not FC and not a business-first product like DL has. How much is being top dog worth to you?

KE has no plan to use 380 on IAD-ICN. It's either 77W or 772ER with fully flat prestige class. Non-stop is a plus factor but schedule might not be ideal because it's morning departure from ICN.

No comparison... KE all the way.

I can't imagine any DL hard product that would be better than KE; and soft product, 3 words: "US legacy carrier". Enough said.

Disclosure: I've flown DL 777 BE product as well as KE 777 Prestige full flat bed product.

Correct. I was actually looking at the JFK-ICN routing on the A380

Or IAD-ICN on the 777

Delta's BE fare is around $4600
KE is around $7500
I'm not really thinking the cost difference is worth the change since DL does have the 777 on this route.

While the good service is desirable, my main motivating factor is just a comfortable seat for the flight and I don't care for the EC product on DL Int'l flights.

$2900 isn't worth the difference in my opinion. While I think the lay flats on the 777 are a little firm, I've just opened the blanket and put it down on the seat as extra padding and use the other half of it to cover me since those blankets are pretty large.

Yes, KE service is better but not almost 3k worth better, and the 777 is nice on DL.

I agree. It is entirely too warm in the KE A380 cabin. However, service was great!

DL has SINGLE flat-bed BE seats, and ALL BE seats have direct aisle access. KE has either 2-2-2 (A380s) or even 2-3-2 on the 744/777s in Prestige. Not having to deal with a seatmate trying to cross over you, or yourself having to cross over someone to go to the lav, or even just having a seatmate in the first place, is a big advantage for DL flights (for me).

IMHO: KE is better but not by $2900.

It's certainly a fair point; but given the remaining advantage goes to KE, and I'm not really bothered by someone next to me, it is a minor issue IMHO. Of course, everyone has a different set of priorities when it comes to the hard product.

Yeah, that fare is 63% more. I would definitely go with DL.
