happy with DL

Just want to say I'm so very happy with DL despite the overall 'high' prices of air travel. The service is great... Prechek is great... Woodford is great... SDC is great... Yellow tagged bags are great... Skypesos to Europe are a challenge but I've found peace with AF... oh and DTW is great...and so are UG's at the window and the BF... and the companion UG's too...and if not... exit row is plenty of legroom.. and Chisholm.. and the skyclub agents...oh and the amex companion certs and the mostly very nice phone agents who show common sense... and the red blankets.. and most of all the professional pilots FA's and behind the scenes people on the ground.

Sorry... just wanted to interject some positivity. It just amazes me that for not That much money you can be in so many places in the world within 36 hours, i don't know how they coordinate so many teams in so many places

I.m pretty happy too. And lucky I guess. I never experience all the issues others have on this board. Delta is a dependable airline that gets me from point A to point B without hassle at fairly good prices.

Sounds like you should have posted this on Thanksgiving. You forgot (or don't use) DeltaAssist.

Overall I am also happy with Delta. Many good things, and a few challenges. Its funny, I made the switch from United to Delta as I am out of MSP. My plan was to take advantage of direct flights. I find myself thinking on each trip, do I want direct or do I want to maximize miles. Recently it is maximize miles even if it takes all day to fly somewhere I can get to in 2 or 3 hours with a non-stop. I am currently at 121,908 MQM and trying to decide for my next flight to Boston whether to change my flight with a SDC;
  • Currently scheduled MSP-BWI-DTW-BOS for about 2000 miles
  • Could do a non stop and shave a ton of time off and enjoy my one day in Beantown on the business trip
  • Could find an understanding DeltaAssist agent and get a SDC to a flight with 3100 miles to get me to Diamond a few days sooner. It would give me the extra 25% RDM and try to leverage the "first flight as Diamond" on the gate agent in ATL for my flight to HNL. I didn't spring for the upgradable K fare. I know WFBF.

Delta does a lot to keep me loyal. I guess that is the point of a loyalty program. I may not be the biggest HVC Delta has, but I am on the road 26 weeks out of the year, even if I am able to plan a head enough to snag sLUT fares on most of them.

I'm much happier than I was with CO and glad I made the change.

Not ear to ear grin happy though, DL's web presence sucks.

Sounds like you've been plied with the Woodford

I would be much happier with DL if it weren't so cheap in such easily avoidable ways: blaring commercials over the PA system, interrupting IFE with commercials, hawking the AMEX. It's just plain nasty.

Yes, the current website leave much to be desired. I work in the travel industry (not Delta or any airline) and specifically with the IT/Development groups. Its not an easy task to make everyone happy. Been in many meetings where features get cut because they are not working right or "we need to fix it after it is live"

Funny, those things never bother me. DL is in business to make money and they have a captive audience, most of whom haven't heard these things as often as some here.

Never listen to them myself because I always bring along my best friend who won't let me listen to that stuff. His name is Bose QC-15. Never travel without him. Try it, your stress level will plummet.

Except that they blare the commercials on TATLs right after take-off, before we're allowed to use our electronics. And interrupting the IFE is not fixable with BOSE QC-15 (who I believe is also my best friend). I understand this is firmly in the #firstworldproblems category, but when you spring thousands for BE and you get hawked crap while you fly (as you say, a captive audience) it makes you run screaming for BA or some other carrier. If that sort of thing irritates you, which it does me, but YMMV. OTOH I don't give a toss about the awards calendar, but I know that is a source of annoyance for many here too.

p.s. yes, DL is in the business of making money. I've already paid for my flight. That's enough.

Glad all of you are happy. I'd be happy too if DL had a better FF program for frequent international travelers and a better international hard product. Well come to think of it, I'm actually pretty happy.....because I'm flying *A and not DL.

+1
In fact I am very happy with delta. They treat me and my family with respect and provide excellent customer service. Just today I missed a flight d/t IRROP's. E-mail from Delta arrived as I deplaned-they had moved me to next flight and already upgraded me. Arrived home three hours later than planned but happy just the same.
Well done Delta!

Agreed - Imagine being a WN or NK flyer. DL has a great hard product.
