How many miles, how cheap, what dates?

Try using Kayak or SkyScanner. Some examples may be PIT-JFK-BOS and back or PIT-DTW-ORD-STL and back. You can usually find 6 segments (3000 miles) for $200-$300.

Updated: PIT-ATL-STL-MSP-PIT, 2252 miles for $176 on 12/15/12.

4000 miles, any date, preferably on a route where I can avail an upgrade as a DM, price in the $250-$400 range.

PIT-LAS through DTW or ATL is $241.20 all-in for same day returns on numerous dates in December (generally weekdays). Nets about 4500 MQM's.

CAK-SEA also available for $241.20 for some days in Dec and will net somewhat more MQM's.

Good find for this time of year. To the OP: This late in the year, with the holidays, etc., I would hop on LBJ's suggestion right away. It is highly unlikely, especially from PIT, that you will even begin to find anything cheaper for a MR. The way things go with airfares, waiting even an hour to book this could cost you another hundred plus dollars at least. You just never know. You could try going to itasoftware.com and plug in a few destinations from PIT to see if you can find anything better.

Book it first and then use the 24 hour cancel if you can find something better.

12/9 4:00pm-10:47pm PIT-JFK-SLC
12/9 11:50pm-9:47am SLC-JFK-PIT
$339.20 ai 4978 MQM's

A little more spendy than other routing but a few more miles thru JFK.
I am doing just the reverse of this on 12/7.

Many days after that for the same price and short turn in SLC

Wow! I never knew we were a destination for Mileage Runners!

Sorry that I won't be in town to show you around!! . . . . On Dec 7, I'll be in Paris! But, I'll be back Dec 8, in case you get stuck here!

I have had some of my best mileage runs from PIT. Never stepped out of the airport.

THANK YOU!!!

I did not expect to find any deals like this in December near CLE.

I have been worried about the 4k I needed to earn sometime during December to qualify for PM. I was considering a flight to ANC to have breakfast with my friends who live there, but $850 was not going to make a MR worth it.

You're both a destination and a good starting point. I flew to pit to fly to txl during the dblmqm promo a couple years back. Plus there was the $139 r/t to sfo and lax that was a mistake (I think) this past summer.

First of all, I frequently do PIT/TXL (4 or 5 times a year) - - as a matter of fact Wednesday of this week! Who knew! (hence my day in Paris next Friday mentioned above)

The $137 fare was PIT to LAX/SFO/DEN - - UA strong holds. I booked 4 of them, none of which has taken place yet!

I actually booked PIT/LAX/SFO/PIT for $207, that way I can do both LA & San Fran! So, I have 2 circle trips like that one, and 2 PIT/DENs! The 1st DEN is 5 days after I get back from TXL in Dec!

And yes, I did a decent amount of trips during the DMQM deal, but, I still held back from DM, to roll over a ton!

Thanks, I have doe the PIT>LAS>PIT trip twice so far this year. $241 ai thru ATL, interested in CAK>SEA, will check it out, weekdays better than weekends for this route also? I have a house in the Youngstown Area so CLE, PIT, and CAK are all about the same distance for me to drive to.

Me too! I start a 3 day run this week in PIT (after I reposition there from SBN and will have 1 night in PIT pre run)! I got in on the $137 RT deal for 5k MQM's. Just with they had a Skyclub!

Became a regular at PIT when they offered the double MQMs.

Monthly JFK-IST for 10k MQM became JFK-PIT-JFK-IST-JFK-PIT-JFK for 22K MQMs a pop, for only about $150 more

Was nice because I could overnight at home in NYC on either side so not have to worry about bags, etc.

That was fun, but also never left the airport.
