And for the fact that the weather seems to be rather good across the country for those who are traveling.
Happy Thanksgiving all.

I have never tried it but, by most accounts, Thanksgiving Day is a great day to travel.
Good luck.

I wish I knew about mileage runs so that I can accumulate miles on a Thanksgiving day. Too late to do it with young kids.
I would take family time any day.

No family and this is a work flight but I'd certainly rather be home.
I'm in the process of flying BNA to BIS through MSP and it is amazing how few people I'm experiencing in the airports! Probably 25%-35% of a normal travel day for me. I have a 3 hour layover in MSP so a buddy picked me up for a bite and a couple beers. On return there were only 2 people in front of me at TSA pre-check. Sitting at The F-G Skyclub now and it is 30% full. I for one am thankful to the media for scaring everyone away from traveling on the day before Thanksgiving!
I never really minded working on Thanksgiving day. I would bid for the transcons. This is before the airline upgrade programs took off. I'd just bring everyone up to FC with room to spare. In those days we were always catered full with 3 entree choices.
After the meal, most would go to the back to find a row to stretch out in and go to sleep.
There were things in the old days that we as airlines just did better than they do today.
