Tomorrow morning will be my first experience at a Delta SkyClub. I am sure the SkyClub experience is better in the later afternoon or evening hours, but what can I expect from a SkyClub experience in the morning? (Food and beverage?)

You didn't say which club you'll be in, but my experience a couple of weeks ago in the afternoon at ATL was hot and stuffy, noisy, standing room only, and a line for the bathrooms. Didn't bother checking the snacks, got a free drink and went back out to the concourse where it was cooler, quieter, and there were available seats.
Probably also bagels & yogurt. No cheese. As mentioned, the beverages are the same, though as I learned yesterday at DFW, local laws may prevent alcohol from being served before a specific time.
I actually prefer the morning selection because it resembles something I would normally eat for breakfast (semi-stale bagel, coffee, granola, yogurt, fruit), whereas the snacky stuff they put out for the rest of the day is nothing close to a normal meal.

Bagels?
Are you talking about the chewy hamburger buns with the hole in the middle?
(I need to get back to NYC for a real bagel. Sigh.)

I agree, mornings are actually a great time to visit the club. The latte machine makes a variety of espresso drinks on demand. Typically I see bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, fig bars, mini muffins. A lot of clubs have apples throughout the day now as well. There should also be copies of local and national newspapers available.

Breakfast > Lunch/Dinner.
You can actually get oatmeal for breakfast. Smuggle a banana outta the FC basket, and into the SC, and slice it into your oatmeal and you actually have a healthy meal.

I agree - IMHO - the morning offerings are quite a bit better than later in the day - overall.
I'm not sure what fascinates me more about the SkyClub at 6a.m.; the number of people knocking down drinks at the bar or the number of times I hear a DYKWIA make a comment about how he/she will not be "sitting in the back of the bus."

I haven't seen a banana on a flight for over a month now.
I love SkyClubs. I know they're not really exclusive, the Vegas-like lighting and furnishings give only a veneer of retro cool, and the reason they pass more alcohol than anything else is a combination of the fact that people need a bit of an edge cutter on the road and they can supply alcohol without straining logistics because it doesn't spoil. Now that I mention it, the food and drink offerings at SkyClubs aren't all that different than what Lewis and Clark or the early pioneers carried with them - lots of alcohol and food-like substances that don't spoil. .
Having said all that, I do love SkyClubs. Their breakfasts are actual quite nice for what they are. If you know what to select, you can have a pleasant breakfast with a really good cup of chocolate coffee. They do look artificially glitzy, which is kind of cool if you squint your eyes and look at it from a child's point of view. I bought my nephew a day pass last holiday season when we were both traveling - him back to the Army and me for business after New Year's last year. He's 21 and when he came into the main lounge at MSP his eyes were wide as saucers and he thought he had fallen through a rabbit hole where everyone was a Hollywood celebrity.
Sadly, we're not, but if you keep the slightest bit of wonder in your eyes as you travel, SkyClubs are a wonderful oasis where no matter how crowded it is, people give you all the drinks and chocolate chip cookies you ask for, the chairs are mostly comfortable, and there are recharging plugs to be found. Finally, you can usually look out over a runway and enjoy the sights of the airport as you enjoy your drink.
Posted on my iPhone Tuesday evening in the Atlanta A Concourse SkyClub with a cold glass of cheap tap beer in my hand.
