Economy Comfort is now on sale through November 29th
My wife (silver) just got an email from delta showing reduced price domestic EC seats purchased by Nov. 29. I do not think you have to fly by that date. Does not appear targeted.
As a Silver Medallion® member, stretch out for even less on your flight.

While it does not specifically say you must travel by November 29, I am willing to bet that is the case. Delta knows that most business people are not traveling in the next 10 to 12 days and and most leisure travelers won't fork over the normal higher prices for econmy comfort. So before they have to give them away at the airport, they figure they may as well get what the can in advance. Same thing will likely happen over Christmas and New Years.
Just remember that FOs can book an EC seat for free at check-in. Also remember that the seats tend to open up as DMs, PMs, and GMs get moved into the front. I didn't bother paying for EC seats, and had good success getting them at check-in as an FO.
I just looked at seats for a trip I have coming up in December. I think they did get cheaper but not by half for all legs. Then again, I have no status. I'm pretty certain that EC on my leg from LGA to MCI was $40 and now lists $20. I think other legs were going for $30 and now go for $20. If I remember right, to do EC for the whole flight out and back, it was going to run $120 extra for EC seats. It is now about $80.

+1. I've never not been able to get an EC seat for free at OLCI. Though I sometimes prefer exit rows anyway on some planes.

This is addressed to those folks who proclaim that holding back UGs for FCM is a good idea since it leaves them last minute access to FC seats.
Why isn't discounting EC a bad idea since it reduces last minute access to EC seats?

I'm not sure why any medallion pay for domestic EC. It's pretty much a given that you can get a seat up there if you want it. Every time I've been seated in EC it seems that is where DL puts nonrevs or no status passengers who didn't have a seat assignment.
I just booked ( couple days ago )my February trip to Tucson and upgraded the leg from msp to tus for economy comfort $39 a seat. I see that returning tus to msp upgrade is $19 a seat. I called to see if my seat charge for msp to tus would be different .did nt get anywhere. I can't tell on the website if those seats are on sale. Think I will try again tomorrow . The rep on the phone was hard to understand . Any thoughts?

The only Medallion level where you pay for it would be Silver. Gold/Plat/Diamond can select EC at no-charge when they book their ticket. But if you're flying on an Elite Heavy route as a Silver, you might need to pay up in advance if you want to ensure EC. I had an LAX-MSP redeye and decided to buy EC at the time of booking to ensure a window seat in EC. By the time I could select EC for free at the check-in window, all that was left in EC was a couple middle seats.

Ah, I I forgot Silver could only select EC at T-24. I'll admit I've always felt a little spoiled when it comes to upgrades. Even when I was silver I never really had problems getting upgraded out of DAB or MCO. MLB and JAX are horrible even as a gold though.
