Can someone with EF please check whether there is Z inventory on DL 101 (ATL-EZE) on Saturday 17th Nov and DL 110 (return) on the 21st November?
If there isn't, what are the chances of the SWU on M-fare clearing at the gate?

I am pretty sure doing so violates the T&C. You could do the free trial or a paid membership.

Really? I realize I'm being cheap, but I've seen people do this over and over.
I used to have a paid EF membership but have cut way back on international M/SWU owing to availability issues so it's not really worth my while anymore.

You can check whether Z is available for your flights by just calling DL. If the answer is no, look at the seat map (inaccurate) and try to book 1-9 BE seats in various fare classes using advanced search by fare on delta.dumb to estimate how full the BE cabin already is for your flights..

This is not just about being cheap. Yes, some post EF info here but in your case, it is cheap AND lazy.
The DL forum has more than enough contempt for certain Diamond behavior already. This is a case where you could have called the Diamond line to get an answer faster than by typing this request, much less asking others to do the research for you.
BTW, I use EF at least as often for SDC info as for intl travel. Well worth the cost, IMO.
Ouch, I feel chastened. I apologize for coming off as a DYKWIA. You're quite right I can call the DM line, and will do so. Unfortunately I don't have the information about whether other FTers have been able to use SWUs on this route, how crucial Z-availability at booking time is to this particular route as I have never taken it, so if the answer is "no Z availability" I won't know whether to take the risk. Hence my request to FT. Anyway, mea culpa.

It's tedious but you can find how many seats DL is willing to sell at different fare codes on your flight by doing some dummy bookings as I suggested above. Unfortunately you sometimes get misleading results due to married segment logic, but you can get some idea without asking someone to check EF data for you.

Ok, Ok, I did it. Well, as you know z0 for the outbound, but z all over the place up to a few days before. It seems mid-week is better for z than weekend on this route. Still, it's going out J6 tonight, so probably safe to get the M and count on the gate UG given that it's DL metal. Thanks for shaming me into doing this. My credit card expired and thus so did EF. It was a struggle to decide to renew it given the AF O/W debacle.
So I got the Z on the return leg at booking time and put an alert on EF for the outbound. My odds were good given that the same flight a week before was J6 at T-3hrs.
My EF alert came in at 1h52 this morning. By 9 am no email from DL. I called and they said the reissuing hadn't yet been done but the DM agent called the reissuing desk and it was done on the spot, as in while I was still on the line I saw my status change from requested upgrade to confirmed Z. So yay me! and yay EF! What I wonder, though, is what would happen if somebody bought an M/B ticket during that time and requested Z UG. Would they get the Z UG ahead of me because of the processing delay?

The delay can be awhile. I had a co-worker who was waitlisted, i let them know that it had opened up. They were like i am on the list so i will get it. 3 hrs later nothing and Z was back to 0. So if you see it open always call and get it.
