Need help booking a flight- First time redeeming a reward
Hello,
I need some help figuring out what to do. I am trying to take a trip with two people to Hong Kong. I only have about 140K miles, so I need to book it at a low time. For one person, I can find low availability, but when they put two people in, the skymiles jumps up. I am flexible with dates, and was looking at going in August. I don't care what airline. This is my first time redeeming miles, so any tips would be great. I know China Southern goes to Hong Kong, but I don't know how to look that up.
Yup. I did both. What they said after I finally got someone good to help was that they only have one seat left at that price. And I looked on the calendar, and its like that for basically all of 2013! As much as I would love to visit Asia, it looks like for two people there's no way I can go during the low rewards unless I book it within the next month or two.

It's a fairly easy task even for two if you don't mind the long layovers.

8/23 CZ633 (10.5h layover in CAN, followed by CAN to HKG)
8/28 KE608 (A380 from HKG-ICN) - assuming this one is available (cannot check without calling)
8/28 KE11 ICN-LAX (A380, or KE17 if you prefer A380)
8/28 DL1454 LAX-ATL
Your flt is nine months away. If you can't find another way, consider buying the miles to top off the account as necessary. DL has deals throughout the year so the cost might not be as much as you believe.
