I redeemed miles for two "First/Business(O)" class tickets on an Air France 747 from SFO to CDG. I am trying to select seats but am confused.
The Delta web page lists both seat numbers 1-3 and 60-73 as "business elite". Seatguru.com has a map that looks quite different than the delta.com map, and suggests different classes for the two areas. Where do I want to be?
Just select your seats on the AF website, as it wouldn't work properly selecting them on delta.com anyway. Business seats on AF 747s are only on the lower deck, so seats in row 1 to 8, while the upper deck starting at row 60 are simply economy seats with a little bit more leg room.

if the OP purchased the tickets on Delta, then the OP is SOL. Call Delta.

No, this is incorrect. You should be able to type your DL "006" ticket number into the AF site and log into your official booking, and select your seats. Barring that, DL should be able to give you AF's record locator so you can get into the reservation that way.

This is the best way to go. Make sure you get your AF record locator -- will probably take a call to DL to get this. You'll be able to look at the actual seat map to select your seats.

Never, ever select partner seats on DL.com!
While I agree with you about never picking seats on delta for partner travel, I've always just called DL. Quick and easy. However, this is the first I'm hearing about entering your ticket # in the AF site.

Go to the AF website, and enter your your Delta confirmation code -- AF should recognize it. Picking seats on the DL website is a waste of time because they don't stick.

I prefer row 1 on the B747.
As others have said, go to airfrance.us for seats since Delta.com will show whatever and you are up for a bad surprise at the airport. Good DL agents will go into amadeus and actually get you the real seats, but don't count on it.

This doesn't always work. When I first made my reservations through DL, I was able to enter my DL conf code on AF.com, selected seats, meals, etc.
About 3 weeks later, I was not able to use my DL conf code, so I called Delta and they gave me the AF codes, which now work on AF. I've never tried to use the ticket numbers.
Don't know why the Delta codes worked initially on AF's website, but it's always safe to have the record locators for the operating airline.

For what it's worth, it's always worked for me in a variety of cases (paid through DL, SkyMiles redeemed via DL, etc.) and I would strongly encourage the OP to follow the leading advice in the thread so far. No need to call anyone and in fact, this could complicate things when the DL rep sends a request for seats. Pull up itinerary on DL.com, scroll to bottom, copy the ticket number, paste it on airfrance.us and have fun successfully picking your seats!
Not true. My E-ticket number never worked for me on AF.com, my trip starts in 5 weeks. Only code that lets me access my reservations now is the AF booking code that I got by calling DL.
Incidently, as I wrote earlier, my DL conf code worked initially on AF.com after I booked my flights over 2 months ago, and I was able to assign seats, etc. Don't know what happened since then, but the seat assignments are still there.
Anyway, no harm in getting the booking code for the operating airline since that will always work.
There has been some issues with getting seat assignments using the AF site with DL confirmation numbers recently. Limited if any seat availability and inability to have any changes stick. I have switched to using the KLM site and the DL conf. number. Works every time and the AF site shows the change almost instantly. Also, KLM seems to have better seat selection than the AF site.

Wow! Cool trick -- thanks! KL.com shows some nicer seats for my Economy leg, but it does not let me select them. Comes back with seat no longer avail message.
