FACELIFTS FOR
ATL DELTA SKY CLUBS

Delta Sky Clubs.
Book A Flight
Dear Socrates,
Plug in or tune out in updated digs.
Here's a sneak peek of Delta Sky Club™ improvements underway at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to enhance your airport Club experience.
Concourse A near Gate A17:
Relocating reception desk to reduce congestion
Installing hands-free automated glass entry doors
Adding new snack service areas
Concourse B near Gate B25:
Creating new lounge seating areas with improved space planning
Redesigning the business center and other amenities
We're also adding wireless printing capabilities to both locations. Renovations at the Clubs are scheduled for completion by September 20, 2010. And you can look forward to more improvements on the horizon for our other Atlanta Clubs too.
Thank you for your patience as we upgrade your Atlanta Club experience and for your membership in the Club.

on the wireless printing
Hopefully, when the "business centers" are redone, we will no linger have to crawl around on our hands and knees to plug in a laptop charger.

Yes, they're both still open and one can see the work going on at both.
B24 is, to be blunt, a clusterF during peak periods right now. They have chairs on darn near every open piece of tile/carpet and customers are still virtually lined out the door to get in. Want a chair with an available outlet? It's like winning the lottery.
The positive here is DL is eliminating the conference rooms in order to offer more seating to guests. The other SC in B is at 10 and...well...we don't need to describe that hellhole closet now do we?
It's so bad right now that I honestly don't even bother attempting to go in either club... I simply set up shop at the Recharge Center near B25 if I have a B departure.
I agree with the electrical outlets, at least some of the clubs have put outlet strips in, but I have had to move chairs and crawl on the floor more than once. We all need power, can never be enough outlets.
How about making sure the power outlets in those oval side tables consistenly work -- all over the system? More than once I have sat down, plugged in, only to discover that whatever I plugged in ain't charging. Maddening.

I got an email from Delta today indicating the LGA SkyClub by Gate 2 is being renovated in 2 phases. The back will be done first then the front part later.
I suppose the former WC will still remain open and the same as before.
Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM (doesn't seem so special anymore), SC (again, not so special), Marriott Gold

A17 does have a somewhat conventional bar, with a couple old school TVs. It's one of my favorite clubs for that reason. I hope they keep this feature and do not turn it into a walk-up bar.
Ditto on the power outlets. I was shocked when I visited the LAX remodel a couple days ago and found none -- nada -- in the new 50-seat rotunda. I thought at the very least, they would have included them along the walls but with more foresight, would have had power strips throughout the area.
