could i bring a toaster through security into the skyclub

DCA is one of the few skyclubs without toasters. I find it's practically criminal to offer bagels and cream cheese sans toaster. Every time I'm there in the am I think to myself, why not just gift the club with a toaster? They're cheap and it would be a nice gesture. But then i get to thinking that security would never let me bring a toaster through b/c then it could be brought onto a plane with power jacks and that opens up terrorist potentials.

So what do you think...could I get it through? And if so, would Delta skyclub even accept it?

Barring that, could I grab the ear of a delta employee here to get a cheap toaster put in at DCA? It doesn't have to come with a signed note dedicated to me or anything, but would be awesome to be there.

I had to laugh, because I used to feel that way at the DTW clubs. They -HAVE- toasters, but they are the SLOWEST things... And they looked expensive, but slow...

I haven't been back since they brought bagels back, so I don't know if they are still there.

Could we perhaps have a "bring a toaster to your local skyclub day" (playing off of "take your kids to work day")? Maybe they would get a kick out of 200 toasters going through security simultaneously across the US.

The CO PC at LAS has the wonderful commercial toaster with the conveyor system. Place it on the belt and it takes a ride and comes out at the bottom. Something like that would be awesome.

Tipping a toaster for a bagel and cream cheese.
We always had a toaster in NW World Clubs.

The one in DCA was slow too. They should have the kind with a conveyor belt. It makes sense if you want to turn out a lot of toasts per minute. On the other hand, if the aim is reduce the consumption, it's best to have a slowwww toaster, or none at all.

Well i'm not motivated enough to buy a really fancy commercial toaster. just a small personal sized one.

Isn't it funny how some people have their panties in a wad over award ticket availability and all i need to be happy is a freakin toaster? I'm easy to please Delta! (some intl upgrades wouldn't hurt either though).

they have them in several clubs. Only clubs I've been to without toasters are DCA and MSY.

Since you can't find any award ticket, you can use you miles in Skymiles market place to buy a toaster.

Terrible. I’ll make sure to avoid these clubs in the AM.

Interesting idea, though a personal toaster wouldn't really last in a club -- they're nowhere near as rugged as the commercial ones you typically see.

That said, it would get the point across, if that's your goal.

btw, I hope you don't toast real bagels when in New York.
