Sounds like CO forced them to end it after CO's entry into *A.

Here you go...
Singapore Airlines and Delta Air Lines have mutually agreed to end their frequent flyer partnership due to a realignment of their respective frequent flyer programmes.
KrisFlyer members can continue to earn and redeem* KrisFlyer miles on Delta Air Lines until 15 May 2010. Award travel on Delta Air Lines, however, must be completed by 14 May 2011.

As a member of KrisFlyer, you will continue to enjoy extensive coverage of the USA with our Star Alliance partners United Airlines, US Airways and, our recent addition, Continental Airlines.

Members can, of course, continue to benefit from the full Star global network of 26 airlines providing smooth and efficient end-to-end transfers, as well as awards, upgrades and lounges.

The rationale is that SQ already has 3 US domestic partners within *. There is no reason to partner with DL anymore.

Wow.. CO has had a LOT more tricks up their sleeve than DL so far. They are making the argument to switch more and more compelling each day.

Please! Please! SQ give us DL people a chance to redeem and fly SQ by the same deadlines. I fear this is my last opportunity to ever sit in SQ J!

When I first read that press release, I wondered whether the Skyteam alliance is clueless, or is simply immune to mocking!

Well, as CHANGE has come to Continental, SQ has decided to continue its record of partnering with the "best-in-class" FFP in the business. From mid-2010, the "best-in-class" FFP is OnePass, hands down, and therefore SQ is rightfully placing its relationship with Delta in the history books.

Fantastic ....but honestly with the last couple of 774 routes on their way out sometime next year, our options to redeem for F awards was going to end anyway.

I nominate Air Zimbabwe to cover Africa and Turkmenistan Airways to cover the CIS states for Skyteam. You have to go for the best!

Problem is getting additional carriers. Can you name any major carriers (save for the Middle Eastern ones) that aren't part of an alliance by now?
