Thanks, so I guess it's a 767-400 for now then...I also heard a rumor about DL34 ATL-DKR-CPT being on a 767-400 with flat beds until it gets cut next month. Is that true?

Take a look at the seat map on Delta.com. If it shows 1-2-1 config, then yes, it's operating with the lie-flat config.
Want to speculate where the A330s will go? They really don't have a range advantage over a 764, but they do have lower J to Y ratios (40/206 on the 764 to 32/211 on the A332), and cargo capacity advantages. My guess is that we might see ATL-SCL, LIM or GRU with A330 equipment.
Programs: DL Plat/CRC/RW, UA Premier (Exec soon!), Marriott Silver, SPG Gold, a few others too...

With the apparent 777 surplus now, I wouldn't be shocked to see ATL-GRU get some 777 service. Last winter, I think they had 2x/week service on the 777 to GRU (with 764s the other 5 days), and that was with a constrained 777 situation.
I would have thought winter would be the high season for HNL.
Not really. There's less seasonality than one might think. Sure, winter climate residents want the warmth and sun in winter, but Hawaii is a family destination that sees lots of 'summer' visitors, too.
Just got my "Your Delta itinerary has changed" email yesterday for my return home on September 12th (I'm still on a NW A333 JFK-FCO at the end of August).
Only difference from the stated above change in equipment is the flight schedule is showing it to be a DL 764 (Flight 149).
Do not be surprised to see a 777 variant going into LHR....
It would be surprising to see a 777 serving LHR - particularly in the winter - on a regular basis. The capacity is simply not needed.
The only way it could feasibly make sense is to pull out of LGW all together (or make service seasonal) and have a single daily ATL-LON flight on a 777. Would weaken DL's position in the market though.

Unless, I guess, you used the extra slot to offer service from another hub or gateway.
Even then, it seems like too big a plane for an airline that has always used the smallest equipment possible for most routes in order to minimize risk and ostensibly increase yields.

Yeah, I bet DL can get more 77L coming into LHR. Is that the short term during high season travel? What about DL will wait for another new routes will be choose.

Want to speculate where the A330s will go? They really don't have a range advantage over a 764 ...
According to Airbus and Boeing data, the 764 and A330-300 have almost the exact same rage. Airbus data also shows the A330-200 has 1,000nm more range than an A330-300 (6,750nm vs. 5,650nm). It is possible NW's A332's are a lower gross weight option, and the A333's are higher gross weight option, making the range difference less, but the A332 should still have a range advantage over the A333.
One more thing. DL has not repainted an A332 yet, but has painted several A333s. Does anyone know if DL plans to park the A332s? It would seem stupid to me, as it is a newer airplane with a common pilot qualification with the A333.

DL has a conundrum. It could get additional slots at LGW if needed, but an extra LHR slot is probably harder (and more expensive) to come by.
