DL Elite Baggage Waiver With CO?

Does DL waiver the checked baggage fee for CO elite members? I called the DL 800# but couldnt get a direct answer from them. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I've alerted the mods to move this to the DL forum.

To answer your question -- no, they stopped doing it a while back and CO doesn't allow DL elites to get free baggage either.

Never hurts to ask. When I checked in at EWR I told them I was Skyteam elite and they didn't charge me anything. YMMV

Yeah, they got a little preturbed with each other a few months ago and stopped allowing this. My last free baggage on CO was in late January and I think the decision was a few weeks after that. I cancelled a family trip on CO and rebooked on DL because the baggage fees would have more than eaten up the fare savings. IMHO, if the marketing guys at CO and DL were on their "A" game they would eliminate the baggage fees for the other company's elites until the October transistion of CO to try to gain an elite or two from the other carrier, or at a minimum build good will for future business.

From what it sounded like, it was a game of tit-for-tat. DL has always charged OAL ST Elites the bag fees on domestic flights, so once the baggage alignment with NW was done, CO came back and said no more free bags for DL/NW elites since their elites don't get it when on DL/NW.
