Free WiFi for Sky Club visitors eff. 4/17

Transiting ATL today, very busy I presume due to the aftermath of Friday's storms.

The A17 SC has a sign up that says wireless internet will be free for all club visitors effective 4/17.

Good move!

I assume it will still be T-Mobile cards?

Or can we hope for NW-style service?

It looks like I now can save the $10 a month and get rid of my T-Mobile Hotspot subscription.

It's about time DL actually delivered an improvement in the CRCs.

Free wireless internet for all lounge customers is an area in which DL will be ahead of most of the major US carriers.

WHAT?? CO PC's are always free and NW WC was free you just need to read the password or ask when you enter the club. DL is not getting ahead, its just catching up

CO and NW have had free access in their lounges for many years.

DL and NW are the same company now. Do AA, UA and US lounges generally include free wireless internet for all lounge visitors? No. It's CO and DL that are ahead of most of the US majors in this area.

I know. Still, when it comes to free wireless for all lounge visitors, CO and DL-NW are (to be) ahead of most of the US majors.

I thought all airport lounges had free wifi? I guess I'm just spoiled after being a loyal NW customer all these years.

If DL's vendor contract with T-Mobile specifies T-Mobile cards, that's what it will be until the contract terminates/is terminated.

GUWonder - you make negatives comments about DL, you get bashed. You make positive comments about DL, you get bashed. Tough crowd

Delta originally signed a contract with T-Mobile back in 2003 to host T-Mobile hotspots. At the time, members still had to sign up with T-Mobile. Recently as complementary wifi became prevalent, Delta began handing out T-Mobile prepaid cards to Crown Room members, but not other people allowed in the lounge -- reciprocal membership, Skyteam Elite+, etc. I think they signed a too-long contract with T-Mobile and were prohibited from offering competing service.

I was there thursday night and saw the sign as well. It specifically stated that T-mobile cards will no longer be required for the wifi service.
