Reason: Confusing myself...
Exactly correct as per the sample math on the NWA page. Arguably a very deceptive way of presenting the promotion.
In comparing it to other airlines however, it's not that deceptive -- it's 3x or 2x of actual miles flown and -- for most -- just 1x of miles flown (read: no status bonus for most fares sold).

So let me get this straight...does this extend to DL.com booking? Or do I need to book a Delta flight on Northwest.com in order to get the bonus MQM's? (I cant find any mention of it on the Delta website). Further, I only see registration using a WP number, so how I would qualify for this using my SM account #?
I like this promo. IMO it stikes a reasonable balance. I wish they didn't give triple miles for the high end and only gave double for K and up. It would still be triple the miles flown for M and above since they get 1.5MQMs normally.

Today (3/23) I booked a ticket for 3/23. I wonder if I register before I travel, if I will qualify. It's only a DCA-NYC f;light so no biggie if I don't get the bonus. I guess i could cancel and rebook since I am within the 24hr window.

Clipper, aren't the "the actual base flight miles" posted by UA and CO already boosted up based on fare class? I guess I was under the impression that they were multiplying your EQM, so that 2x the original EQM is actually 3x flown miles assuming that you were earning 1.5x based on fare code. If that is right, then DL is no better for the premium fares as you contended earlier. If I misunderstood the other airlines' offers, then you are indeed right (as is historically the case).
For me, I was poised to change an award booking to paid once DL matched the offer. With LUT excluded, I am not so keen on it.

But under the bonus column, NWA says "triple" for premium fares. Really the bonus should be "double" sine the fare normally earns 150%. Just my two cents, and like I said arguably deceptive
Who said K fares are exactly some of the highest fares in many markets besides you?

They are offering double on K fares, but according to you, only premium and premium cabin fares qualify...so apparently, according to you, K fares are premium fares...
Double and triple mile flown. If it less than 500 miles do they still stick you with the miles flown? On a sub 500 mile T fare this would actually be a reduction in mqms earned.

Your final assertion is really not supported by the NWA terms, as I discuss above. NWA is giving the bonus as a multiple on actual flown miles, rather than a multiple of MQMs. If they multiplied MQMs by 3, then M fares would yield 4.5x flown miles.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This DOES NOT BENEFIT A DL-ONLY FLIER AT ALL? Correct? It only mentions this for NW, so all miles and mqms will have to be credited towards NW....so how does this affect us here in the DL forum?

If NW is running it, DL will run it, too. That is why it is relevant.

I think the discussion is based upon a presumption that DL will soon be doing the same since they own NWA...
