AA, UA, US double EQM promo, any chance of a DL/NW match?

Here's the link for the AA double EQM promo.

Last year DL started before AA, so any chance for a match this year?

I'm thinking they will resist this unless another legacy matches. In that case, I don't think DL will have much of a choice. I'm ambivalent about it since I'm an itin or two a month type of traveller and I kind of enjoy an end of year MR to make PM. Those who fly a decent amount over 75k a year on DL or ST partners crediting to DL will generally be staunchly opposed to such a promo.

they seem pretty optimistic over on the UA forum about the match. I've already got 52,000 EQMs on NW, and i'll have no prob making PE, but a promo like this will definately help with Eilte extra perks for NW.

US had already been running a DEQM promo, now AA matched.

Business travel has fallen off a cliff, these promos allow the legacies to keep their hooks into their elites until the economy improves and drive incremental revenue. I think everyone will match.

Ah, thanks, I didn't know. Does US still qualify as a legacy carrier? (I kid) I agree with your belief that everyone (at least all the leagacies) will match.

I was thinking the same thing and waiting patiently.
Right now I have zero booked.
2X MQM's come back and I have 3 itin's ready to go... maybe 4.

Not that I'm anything special, but I doubt I'm the only one waiting.
That could = a nice revenue bump for DL.
Let's hope they feel the same way.

I'm waiting too... I'll buy at least two R/Ts if they have a Double MQM promo.

I agree..in the pre-merger days, I think it would have been a no-brainer for DL to match, especially in these dire economic times. However, maybe DLNW feel that their new-found status as the world's largest airline may allow them to skip such promos...but if the others start matching, I don't see DLNW holding out.....

EQMs are free for the airlines to print (in the sense that there is no accounting hit) unlike bonus miles. It's a no brainer for DL to match.

Leave it to me to go directly to the Wizard and ask him what his next move is - I have been pestering, excuse me, sending e-mails to Delta over the last two months asking about double medallion qualifying miles this year. After the American Airlines double elite miles offer, I again wrote to Delta. This was their answer:

--------------------------------------
At the present time, Delta SkyMiles does not have a current promotion
that is offering Double Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs).

Like many airlines, we offer targeted promotions to specific customers
and potential customers. Each promotion is offered to a limited number
of customers and cannot be extended to additional participants. However,
we conduct many promotions each year and we will most certainly contact
you when we have a relevant offer. We are working hard to provide you
and all Delta customers with compelling membership offers and mileage
bonuses.

Mr. , thank you again for giving us an opportunity to respond to
your concern. We very much appreciate your Medallion loyalty to Delta
and look forward to the privilege of serving you again soon.

Sincerely,

Medallion Desk

Retro after booking

hello all:

I booked my flight about a month ago for a few trips coming up such as this Friday. This Friday, will my flight provide double EQM or no? (I booked the flight month ago ...)

Are these AA flights? Your question would be better addressed in the AA forum. If these are NW or DL flights, there is currently no double EQM promotion.

What kind of answer can one expect to such an inquiry? If they have a promo, they'll point you to it. In the absence of a promo, they will confrm as much.
