Business Elite on a 777-200 LR, Atlanta to Johannesburg

Who here can tell me about the inflight services? Anyone have pearls of wisdom on seat selection?

Since when did that get a 777? My understanding was it was serviced by 767 aircraft with a stop-over in Senegal.

Well, the nonstop 777-200LR service doesn't start until June 1, so the fact is that nobody really knows yet what the specifics of it will be. My hunch is that the service will mirror that of the ATL-BOM service, which is on similar equipment departing at a similar time and flying a similar distance.

I expect it to be quite good, but the details are yet to be known.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up. I have reservations on this flight in late June, but I wasn't aware that the service doesn't begin until June 1.

Any word on whether the seats will be truly flat? I have a hard time believing Delta will rival South African's C seats.

How much of a decrease in flight time will we see with a non-stop flight?

I am booked on this flight in August. Are there any Business Elite reports on routes currently serviced by the 777LR floating around out there? Best part about the new nonstop is not having to sit on the ground for a couple of hours in Dakar at 2am while the army/security strips the plane down looking for contraband.

About 3 hours less, from 18 to 15 - give or take some.

DL will be using the 772LRs all of which have the truly flat beds in Business:
