Hub upgrades

There have been service cuts out of ABQ and now I am left with SLC, MSP and ATL as the hubs to fly through. I usually fly to NYC and DC area, sometimes to SJU. I wanted to know what your upgrade experiences have been flying out of those hubs to the cities I usually fly to; I'm mostly trying to decide what hub to choose for most of my flights. Any hints and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck on anything out of ATL - especially to NYC and WAS.

Upgrades to and from DCA do happen. See my 2008 stats almost entirely as a GM below. About 1/2 of these upgrades were thru ATL, most common being DCA-ATL-LAS, DCA-ATL-TPA, and DCA-ATL-OKC.

So which hub do you prefer: ATL, MSP or SLC?

I believe the general consensus is that CVG is usually good for the upgrade... albeit a smaller percentage of flights are mainline, and those that are, have smaller FC cabins (737 and 757) vs some 767s out of ATL.

Edit: Ahh, saw that the OP doesn't have CVG as an option out of CVG. My bad.

Try getting an ExpertFlyer subscription and searching for V inventory at T-5, -3 and -1 days on the routes pertinent to you.
