Wi-Fi, but No more Snack bag on Delta Shuttle - Confirmed with Gate Agent
I am a regular shuttle flyer, and I noticed the last few weeks I have not gotten my snack bag. Today I asked the Gate Agent, and she confirmed that the AM flights will have bagels that you take from the coolers, but other than that its now standard Delta snacks. Sunchips, Bisfoff, Etc..
On a diffrent note, Three of the planes being used for the Shuttle have Wifi- the reps told me it went live today. GoGo reps are giving away little coupons that are good for free internet for the rest of the year. I used the Wifi for the whole 19 -25minutes you can use your computer on BOS-LGA flight, and it worked very well. I took a photo with my isight and attached it an email. The reps are flying on the plane, and asking if anyone needs help. It's pretty straight forward. It does not work on the ground, only once your passed 10,000 feet.
Doesn't look like it is going to be free in any class of service.
But, it will be free during the holiday season according to verbiage from internal:
"Special promotion through December 31
As an added bonus to customers traveling during the holiday season, Delta and Aircell will provide the Gogo Wi-Fi service at no charge from Dec.16-31.
After the holiday promotion period has ended, beginning January 1 Gogo Wi-Fi will be available to Delta customers in both First and Economy class for a flat fee of $9.95 on flights of three hours or less, and $12.95 on flights of more than three hours. "

Have not taken the shuttle since late November. If anybody has flown the shuttle in First since 12/1, is it a full First service (e.g. pre-departure beverage, snack basket, coats etc?). I know the cabins are now ticketed separately.
I used to look forward to that snack bag but now I guess DL is on par with the US Shuttle product in this regard (morning snack only).

1st class on shuttle...
I have been four for four on shuttle upgrades since December 1.
My experience has been that the only difference between 1st and coach is that you are guaranteed to have someone sitting next to you in 1st, where in coach you can a row to yourself.
Joking....
1st Flight. 9:30 LGA- DCA (E175) flight operated by shuttle America ,where the FA told me the plane was not catered for 1st (should I write Delta, it was an upgrade an I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth)
2nd Flight DCA-LGA I asked for a baileys and coffee (I first started ordering that when Song would give you whip cream.. miss that, along with AVODs on every flight and barry white safety announcement) they did not have baileys, I got a Sam Adams) The person behind me ordered wine, and they only had white.
3rd flight was not memorable at all, I had my sam adams and sun chips and that was all.
4th flight I had the pillow, blanket, and bottle of water.
They did not serve drinks out a glass, there was no pre-flight drink offered, but they did check coats.
So to Sum it up, your odds of it being a better experence than coach other than a larger seat are about the same as any short domestic flight on delta.

Wi-Fi, but No more Snack bag on Delta Shuttle - Confirmed with Gate Agent
I flew the LGA-DCA shuttle last Wednesday (12/10) at 10:30 am.
F boarded first (obviously).
They had the snack bag in a cooler at near the GA.
You get to choose your own seat, and yes, someone will be sitting next to you.
There was no pre-flight drink, not even bottled water on my flight.
They didn't take my jacket.
Funny thing was a lady that tried to board with First. They told her 3 times she had to wait for general boarding (in her defense, I think it is a bit confusion, going from general boarding for all, to having a first class boarding now).
She finally made it onto the plane, took a long look into the back cabin, and promptly sat in 1C.
Good for her.

I took a shuttle DCA-LGA a few days ago, and found it to be quite the mess. The previous flight (the one I'd been scheduled on - with a confirmed upgrade) had cancelled, and now one (quite rude) gate agent was left to deal with the entire flight herself.
The GIDS monitors were working (20+ people on the upgrade list) but there was no way to tell how many F seats were left. (The display of available seats showed it as a 1-class plane.) She made an announcement that if you want to wait for your upgrade, you should stay at the gate when they board (thus giving up any chance you'd have at a decent Y seat).
Since I was number 2 or so on the list, I chanced it and got the seat.
Seems to me if they're going to have a 2-class shuttle option, they may as well assign seats. The old Shuttle was great, informal, etc. But now, with people jockeying for upgrades and whatnot, it's such a free-for-all that I'm pretty sure most pax would prefer simply getting a seat assignment like any other flight.
Once on the flight, the crew was one of those very nice crews that work only the Shuttle. They took "F" coats, but no pre-flight drinks. (In fact, the beverage service was cart-based, and before takeoff carts were stored in the back, so they had nothing up front anyway.)
Snack-wise, as earlier reported there's no more substantial snack than the standard basket, but instead of peanuts they serve that premium nut mix that's served on transcon F. Wine/beer still free to all, at least for now.
The FAs seemed very sad that mainline is losing DCA as a Shuttle destination - and they're sure BOS will go away too.
man I can't wait for this to get rolled out system wide..
Hope they somehow make it free in First..
Has anyone heard of a way (in the future, assumed) that you will be able to tell if the AC has the service at the time of booking? Sure would be nice to know ahead of time...
