I was asking the desk attendant at the RDU CRC what the plans for the new CRC were in the new terminal being completed (I assumed there was going to be one) and she told me that she thought they weren't going to have one, that delta was staying in the old terminal. Any insight on this? When is that terminal supposed to open and is Delta really staying in A?
The new RDU terminal 2 will be completely finished in 2010. The proposal is for legacies to move there and for the current terminal to be refurbished for LCCs.

If that's true, it's opposite what I heard last year (late September 07) when I was in the RDU CRC. They said it had just been approved to have a CRC in the new terminal. Plus, I've been hearing for a while that DL would be moving in immediately. If they're not, I wonder why? Maybe AA and UA are doing something big and need the space? I sort of doubt it, though...
If DL is not moving and/or not getting a lounge, it looks like it will be back to AA for me. The AC agents told me that the new club is going to be much, much nicer than the current one!

I was talking about the Admiral's Club in that sentence though. The Admiral's Club in RDU really is pretty decent (it has some of the best drinks in the entire AC system).
It would take barely anything to improve upon the A14 CRC, though. When I first went in there, I laughed. Then I saw the mirror. And then I laughed again. But in all seriousness, I really found the agents there top notch.
Two weeks ago the agent in the RDU CRC told me that they were going to have a club in the new terminal and that she was worried about how they would deal with the "bar" issue. (I told her that maybe they would get a bar tender? LOL!)
The agents there are nice, but the space is SO small for the crowds! Plus the nice women really need to enforce guest limits. Last time I was there one man bought in four or five "friends"...condsidering that there were NO empty seats this was overboard!
Going back to 2006, the plan was for DL to move into the new north end of Term 2 along with AA, UA, and AC when it opens in 2008 ("late summer", says the RDU website). After DL moves, gates A15 and A16 will be lost as some interim improvements are made to Term A. The other legacies must stay in A until the south end of C is demolished and rebuilt as the south end of 2.
Those of us who belong to the AA Admirals Club but not the DL CRC are looking forward to DL's move.

So, it is official that both Delta and US will join the legacy clubs in Terminal 2. Delta's CRC will be open as they move in late summer. So the question of the moment is.. what will it be like? I hear it will be a bit larger and thanks to the makeup of the terminal, it should have at least one full glass wall.. anything else anyone has heard?

When I was in the Club last month, the agent said that the current plan is now to move at the end of the year. The terminal is a few months behind schedule.
I am in the RDU Crown room currently. Talked to the attendant and the new CRC will be about 1000 sf larger, will have an actual bar (no more closet), will be on the third floor and will have windows over looking the gate area. Additionally, there will be a mens AND womens restroom!!
She also stated that the CRC will be about one month behind Delta's gate move and this will happen towards the end of the year.

With the closure of so many other CRCs systemwide, why is DL investing money in building a new club? I know Ive seen it somewhere, but isnt RDU one of DL's top ten most profitable destinations? If so, then it makes sense.
