I'm getting a lot of pushback from Delta on getting a friend's miles to post from this promo. I did the dirty work to get the partner activity to try to net her the extra 3k miles, in addition to getting 12 in for myself. The cut-and-paste of the T&C's of this promo that thankfully ExitRowAisle posted back in January (below), is definitely coming into use and I wanted some of your input. Basically, she has one Hilton stay that posted, along with a points.com posting, and an SkyMiles Incentives - Ameriprise Home/Auto quote posting for 500 miles. All of these posted in February. However, Delta is saying that the points.com and Ameriprise postings fall into the "duplicate" category and therefore don't meet the minimum 3 partner activities, but from what I can read below, that isn't the case? Has anyone had a similar experience and received the miles or were also declined?

In reading through the thread, there's conflicting info about whether the Budget Fast Break counts as a partner for this promo. Is this a YMMV situation? I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth fighting for the miles or not. Thanks!

At least in my experience, it counted and a simple e-mail took care of it. I'd fight!

In my experience, Budget Fast Break did NOT count. They specifically mentioned that because it was bonus miles it did not count (which I think is totally them making up rules after the fact, but that's another story...)

I sent an email and was told it didn't count so I think it's a YMMV situation.

Just wondering, did anyone else following this thread get 25K bonus miles? Or was I the only pathetic loser that had nothing better to do for 2 months than obsess over this promotion?

I had not received the full amount of miles that I understood I should under the T&C.
Today, after 7 months, 5 phone calls, and at least 8 emails, I received the additional miles. Was it worth the effort for 3,000 miles? maybe- it was my last 3,000 to make an award, plus it kind of hit the point where I had already invested so much time that what was a little more? Of course, there was no explanation as to why I had been lied to and told that partners didn't count when they did, why it took so long, etc...just here's your 3,000 miles, go away!

Feel ya dude, that's kinda how it was for me-- I'd been told after a myriad of emails, faxes, phone calls, requests for supervisors, etc, that 1) I wasn't eligible, 2) I wasn't registered correctly, 3) some partners didn't show, 4) some partners didn't count, etc etc etc...
...and just when I was on the verge of labeling this a scam: presto-- there go my miles. Very strange, but a "happy" ending none the less.
I still ask myself though would I have engaged in the program, for just "a few thousand miles", had I known the full scope of activity it'd take me to actually get my due...............
And then I'm like "who'm I kidding, hell yeah I'dve done it!"

Though, I've learned from the likes of rr and others on this site, that the easiest way to avoid all of this... is to save the computer screenshots of my promotion registration (with my name filled in all of the blanks) both before I submit it, and of the confirmation page immediately after it's submitted.
Then save my receipts or e-receipts of any partners participated.
Then have them nicely paperclipped, in chronological order, and ready-on-standby to fax to the SkyMiles service center whenever some moron tries to tell me that I didn't register or one of my partners isn't showing. That way, I have proof of registration and date registered. Proof of money spent on partners, date spent on partners, and amount of partners utilized.
Worked perfectly in the followup offer, and I sincerely suggest this strategy to all others who engage in future such promotions.

The problem for me wasn't either of those things, though. It was that they were claiming that one of my six didn't count, when according to the T&C, it clearly did. And whenever I'd ask them to clarify why it didn't, they would just stop emailing back, and I'd have to start over with someone new a couple weeks later.
And when I tried calling in, they would just say that they couldn't make the decision themselves, they would have to email so-and-so, and no, I couldn't talk to that person directly, and then the next time I would call in they wouldn't have any idea what I was talking about.

Reason: clarifying why I didn't just call in

For those of us who happen to be in a similar situation, can you post the contact you used to finally get this corrected? Might save other a bunch of time and headache.
