24 Partners...... darn

One week to go... thought I was golden for 25 partners. I have 24 posted but I abandoned my last partner, Hertz, because of the 5K Budget promo that recently went sour.

I still might be able to get that coveted 25th partner. I have a one-night Hyatt stay where I check in on March 13th and check out on March 14th. I am not a Hyatt person. I have stayed at Hyatts only a few times in the past 10 years. I will give them my DL number when I check in.

Can anyone tell me how Hyatt miles post to DL accounts. Specifically, is the stay date part of the post? I don't expect Hyatt to get my miles into my DL account in one day but I am hoping that when they do post it will count within the window of this promotion.

Partners: 6 car rental partners (6 of the domestic 7, no Hertz); the standard 7 that almost everyone will get (DL Amex, iDine, dry cleaning, SM shopping, e-miles, points.com, e-rewards); the 3 flowers; SkyMall (my "others" partner); the 6 big U.S. hotel programs (Starwood, Triprewards, HHonors, Marriott, PriorityClub, & Choice); and Delta buy miles.

Congrats, Evan! Why not transfer some Diner's Club points to Delta, is that an option?

If it were I would've done it! Never had a Diner's Club card. I am pretty much tapped out on options. Great fun and a lot of work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Question about e-rewards 250 miles sign-up bonus

Here's a list of my activities that have posted so far:
1) Ameriprise
2) Points.com
3) idine
4) DL Skymiles CC
5) Skymiles shopping -- buy.com

Budget FastBreak also posted, but I'm not going to count that as one of the activities.

I signed up for e-rewards with a link that gives 250 miles upon completion of first survey. I did my first survey yesterday (3/8/2008). Have a few questions:
1) Does the 250 sign-up bonus miles post any different than miles redeemed from using e-rewards currency?
2) It says 6-8 weeks for the miles to post. Will it have a date of my redeemption date?

Thanks for your input in advance. I'm trying to decide whether to buy miles or not.

You could buy 1000 miles for $29.56 as an insurance policy. Think of it as buying 4000 miles for $29.56. This is 0.7 cents per mile. Not bad.

1) The e-rewards bonus posts in the same manner as ordinary e-rewards. It posts as "miles," not as "bonus miles." You should be fine counting it as a partner activity.

2) It should be dated the same as your redemption date. Mine took approximately a week to post.

Good luck.

No, this partner doesn't count.

I joined e-rewards as well with the 250 DL miles bonus. But when or where do we enter our SM number? It didn't ask me during registration.

On the sign-up page http://www.e-rewards.com/invitationr....do?partner=78
there are two fields:
Select Your Sponsor = Delta
Your Account Number with Sponsor Company = SM number

After I did my first survey, it took a few days (maybe a week) but I received an email telling me I could redeem my 250 miles now. I went to the link and it was easy to redeem. Keep checking back with e-rewards (log in) to see if they have a notice telling you that you can now redeem.

Thanks for the reminder to go to the e-rewards website to see if the award was available. Just did that.

Also today I went down to my local Dollar Rent-A-Car office, rented a car for $13.38 ($11.28 for one day + $2.10 tax), drove it around the block a couple of times, enough to make the odometer roll over one mile, and returned the car. Got some funny looks and had to explain the whole Delta promotion. Told them they would have something to talk about now.

My partners:

1 e-rewards
2 Dollar
3 Hertz
4 Best Western or Lather, take your pick
5 FTD for my mom
6 points.com, transfered 5 Midwest miles
7 SM Shopping: Buy.com, $1 music download
8 SM Dining
9 800-Flowers for my wife
10 Lending Tree
11 SM Clothing Care

I sure wish I could count the Budget FastBreak promotion as #12, but I guess to be sure I'll buy miles from Delta. Funny they consider that a "partner". Total expense around $160 not including the car and hotel which I would have done anyway, for about 18,000 miles

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the tips. Sorry I didn't publicize earlier that Dollar $11 rate for anyone in Seattle.

Post date vs transaction date?

Forgive me if this has already been asked before, just tried to skim thru the 60 pages or so of posts and might have missed the question/answer.

But can anyone clarify if one would get credit if the date of the transaction falls before the end of the promotional period BUT the post date (in parentheses) is after the date? I had a skymiles shopping purchase finally show up Saturday and the date it comes up is Feb 23 with post date (09Mar2008).

I'm trying to see if I can get in a last purchase with skymiles shopping for my husband now and wondering if I should even bother if it won't count since post time might not happen till after the 15th.

Thanks in advance.

Transaction date automatically.

And even then, if the transaction date differs from the date of actual activity, you'll have a legitimate argument with Delta.
