What's the cheapest thing available in SkyMall? Anything without shipping required...???
I found a 'zero dollar' priced item - but alas, after reading the terms decided that even w $7.00 in shipping it wouldn't earn miles.
I too am looking for the cheapest item w/o shipping. The least expensive item I found were the Red Rose Earrings for $6.99 ( I did that last year). The shipping brought the total to $14 and change. I'd would love to find a gift that required no shipping and the cheapest gift card is $25 anyway. I might be overlooking something, but I think you are correct in your search. BTW..what was the 'zero priced' item ? Just curious.
For those who have Hilton stay activity posting to their Delta account, what is the posting date used by Delta -- the day you check-out or some later date (when Hilton gets around to posting the stay)?
I'm checking out of a Hampton on 3/14. I think this should count in this promo as long as I double dip on points and miles, but I want to know whether it will be a partner that will automatically be picked up by Delta or one that I will have to fight with them over.

Husband checked in on 2/14 and out on 2/15. In this case they posted on 2/14..

That's interesting. I would have never thought that another option would be for Delta to use a posting date based on the Hilton check-in date. That would suggest that someone could check in on 3/15 and check out 2 or 3 weeks later and still have the activity count in this promo. Thank you for the info.
Is this posting protocol consistent with other people's experience?
Guy: Is this Mr. Paterwdb?
Pater: Yes.
Guy: This is N. from the N. Dry Cleaners
Pater: Yes sir.
Guy: Sir, we seem to have mis-located your shirt.
Pater: Mis-located? Is that a word?
Guy: We lost it.
Pater: No, you didn't.
Guy: Huh?
Pater: I have all of my shirts.
Guy: How do you know.
Pater: Because I didn't leave a shirt with you.
Guy: Our inventory says we have a shirt of yours.
Pater: You don't.
Guy: Are you sure?
Pater: Yes.
Guy: Okay.
Pater: How's the hobbit outside the store?
Guy: Really freaky.
Pater: Okay, have a great day.
Guy: Um, thanks.
END SCENE.
Also, my 2 points posted to my SM account today.

Pater: Whatever you'd like. The cheapest thing you can charge me for... maybe for one shirt. Or can you charge me for like a hanger or something.
Guy: We don't sell the hangers. We give you credit if you bring one in for .02.
Pater: So could you charge me .02 to buy one.
Guy: No. I couldn't put that in the computer.
Pater: Okay, then just whatever you can put in your computer.
Guy: Are you going to have your shirt drycleaned?
Pater: Not unless you can do it while I wait, and you don't mind me sitting over there without my shirt on while I'm waiting.
Guy: I do mind.
Pater: I don't blame you. I'd mind too. Then you can just charge me.
Guy: For what?
Pater: Like I said, whatever you want.
Guy: Okay, whatever you say. That'll be $1.87.
Pater: Here, put it on this card.
Guy: Sign here.
Pater: Thanks. Have a great day. Told you I'd be the strangest customer today.
Guy: Well, he wasn't a customer, but there was a man dressed as a hobbit standing outside for like an hour. I think he cast a spell on my store.
Pater: Um, thanks again.
Each chunk of SkyMiles has the transaction date as posted by the merchant, then in () "Posted on" date of arrival into the DL acct.
So the transaction date proves whether it was done within the eligibility period.

Do you know whether Delta uses the posting date or the transaction date when computing the bonus for this promotion? If I had to guess, I would bet its the posting date since the parenthetical transaction dates don't appear to be standardized.
Assuming the transaction date shows that the check-out occurred during the promotion period, I agree that I have proof that the partner should count. I'm just trying to figure out whether the bonus will post automatically or whether I will have to waste time fighting with Delta over the matter.

The flower pot rings are a buck less than the earrings, but still require shipping.
Giftcertificates.com has many certs starting at $10, with fees and shipping about comes to $12. get a cert for something u use like target or walmart or homedepot or or or .... jst make sure u go through skymiles shopping
Definitely the transaction date. The posting dates are the parenthetical ones .
Touche! You win the battle of the words.
However, it has previously been established that the dates listed in the Delta activity do not have the meaning you have attributed to them. For instance, I cashed in Goldpoints on 1/16, but Delta lists the activity as 1/15 in both fields (the "Date" and parenthetically). Those dates seem to be partner-specific and inconsistently used.
Since I know that Hilton posts its own points days after check-out, I guess I'll assume that they will not somehow transmit that date to Delta (based solely on kimslie's response).
