You do not need to buy anything from points.com
if you never had an account, join and they will give you 10 free delta miles, *which shoudl equal your activity so nothing else is required*
if you have had an account, go to hotspex.com, register with the smae email address as your points.com and fill out some surveys *very quick and easy ones* and then intiate a swap of hotspex points to your delta account for a free activity.

You would be well advised to go to the Delta website, click on the promotion, and read the terms & conditions carefully. Then, if you don't have a good understanding of the promo, read through a signficant portion of this thread. (You probably don't need to read all of the posts since the same topics come up again, and again, and again. . .)
You are not going to earn 1,000 bonus miles for any one partner activity. You need to meet minimum thresholds of 3, 6, 12, etc. before you get the next increment of bonus miles. If you only have 2 partner activities, you get no bonus. If you only have 5 partner activities, you only get the bonus earned for having 3 partners, etc.
I think IndigoEyes meant they can transfer from their SPG to your DL. Can anyone confirm this btw? I don't want to use 1k SPG, so I'd rather have a friend do this for me.
Yes this is what I meant. And, Yes, I can confirm this as the point from my co-workers' SPG has already posted as 1 SkyMiles Pt on my wife's account.
Is anyone having trouble with iTunes? I try to launch it through the Delta website, but it won't go.

From SkyMilesShopping.com I consistently received an error message when it opened iTunes, something along the lines of "The item is not currently available in the US store." I emailed and they said to click the OK button and shop as usual. I did, and two weeks later my miles posted. So it should work, even if it doesn't open correctly.
How about buying $25.00 Budget Rent a Car "gift card" from giftcertificates.com? This will count as one partner activity.
Then use this gift card to rent a Budget car and get extra 5K Delta miles as per the new promo. I actually found a car at Philadelphia airport for $17.00 and change.
Also, if someone can help me get to 9 partner activity. This is what I have done so far:

Please note, 9 partner activities won't get you anything more than you've already got. It goes from 6 at 6K to 12 at 12K.

Thanks. All I had to do was fill out a silly personal survey and I then xferred 10 hotspex points to 2 skymiles via points.com for a unique activity.

Thanks. It worked a lot better when I used IE instead of Firefox.
