Do DL Plats get SkyTeam Lounge Access for US-Canada & Canada-US SkyTeam Flights?
I've been using my DL Plat card -- non-CRC member -- to access SkyTeam lounges for my US-Canada and Canada-US flights as a SkyTeam ElitePlus flying "internationally". Is that actually in tune with official DL/CO/NW policy for lounge access or am I just getting lucky?
The reason I ask is that, in regards to lounge access, some other US-based airlines define "international" and "domestic" in such a bizarre way as to prevent lounge access.

FWIW:
I just traveled in coach on a KLM flight MRS-AMS-CPH and had no problems getting into a very nice main KLM lounge in AMS with my PM card and the boarding card
(I am not officially a CRC member anymore as I use my AMEX Plat to get in domestically)

As you are an ElitePlus on an international itinerary (i.e., no US airline considers AMS/CPH to be "domestic" for purposes of lounge access), getting into AMS with your PM card when flying on a SkyTeam-operated carrier is officially required.
Some US airlines consider Canada "domestic" for purposes of lounge access (i.e., and therefore deny entry to their own elites at least), but no carrier considers AMS-CPH "domestic".
(Not related to international travel, but I've had some AF agents at one AF lounge in Italy question if I was flying intra-Italy only that day -- presumably that may be because they were going to otherwise try to decline me entry???)

Well, I thought the answer was going to be a simple, you have been lucky. However, this link does not exclude Canada, the Caribbean or Mexico, so I'm not sure. Since PMs are the only ones who have Skyteam Elite Plus (unlike in * where the mid and top tiers have *Gold and lounge access) and PMs used to be CRC members perhaps they just haven't gotten around to updating that rule. Before it was a moot point regarding DL elites. I wonder if the CRCs in Canada allowed NW and CO Plats to use the clubs prior to this year. I guess that would be roughly equivilent to the current situation.

The US SkyTeam airlines have already gotten around to updating the lounge access rules since DL PMs lost CRC membership as a top-tier benefit -- at least at the lounges that affect me on my Canada-US and US-Canada itineraries, so that can't be it. Maybe SkyTeam policy, as practiced by the US airlines, doesn't creatively redefine "international" and "domestic" like US-based Star Alliance and OneWorld carriers do when it comes to lounge access?
[Side note: mid-tier elites in some SkyTeam programs get lounge access too -- NW Golds "based" out of Asia come to mind, at least in regards to NW lounges.]

The answer to that would interest me too.

I didn't even see a Skyteam lounge in YYZ when I was there last week - I guess I should have looked harder and tried to get in.
There's a KLM lounge at YYZ, but getting there is an issue for US-Canada/Canada-US flights. Where I take NW/DL/CO flights from YYZ to the US, I don't find any lounges whatsoever either.
At SkyTeam-operated lounges in the US, when doing US-Canada and Canada-US flights, I have been given lounge access as an "international" same-day travelling SkyTeam ElitePlus member. I'm just not sure if that's the agents being nice or if this (US-Canada/Canada-US travel) is an area where DL/CO/NW is better than AA and UA?

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but does anyone have any clarity on this one?
As a Platinum traveling between Canada and the US, should I be allowed entry into a SkyTeam lounge? I was told yes at CVG a couple days ago while at JFK I was told no because Canada is not considered international, along with the Carribean.
It's similar to Star Alliance where United considers Canada international while US does not (unless you are a United elite in First)

Since last I posted in this thread NW and CO has always allowed me into their lounges as an international flying ElitePlus when on a Canada-US or US-Canada itinerary.

Apologies to drag up an old thread but wanted to get clarification/update on US/Canada lounge access.
I understand there's no DL US bound accessible lounge in YYZ, but upon connection in DTW or MSP, is it still legit to gain entry there for the connecting domestic flight? Seems like general consensus is that Canada is still treated as an international itinerary.
Curious if the Skyclub has made changes to the rules.

Same day travel on a SkyTeam international flight or on a SkyTeam domestic flight connecting to/from a same-day international flight operated by SkyTeam. (This includes same day travel on a Delta domestic flight connecting to a Delta—or any other SkyTeam partner—international flight.)
International:
Includes travel to/from Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, Africa, Canada, and Mexico (excludes travel to/from the Caribbean)."
