Delta Miles on Visa/Mchg?

Is there a Visa or Mastercard that offers Delta miles? Just found out that the restaurant where my son's wedding rehearsal dinner will be held does not take my Deltamiles AMEX. Given the rate that money is flowing out of my account, I'd like to get some miles in return. Thanks.

You are sort of stuck with Amex. DL does offer a MC or Visa, but only if you live in Japan. You could get a Compubank Visa card which gives you one Clickreward mile for every $ you spend, but is limited to $1,500 per day and is a debit card.

Amex, never leave home w/o it, but also make sure you have a MC or Visa card with you.

Would I get Delta miles if I use my AMEX card to buy AMEX travelers checks and pay with the checks. Or if I use the blank checks they occasionally send thru the mail. Does the money spent with the AMEX checks results in Delta miles? Anyone had any experience going this route? Thanks

The checks sent with your statement do not accrue miles.

Note that the Compubank debit card is set to $1500.00 per day, but you need only ask and they will raise it. I had mine raised to $10000.00 per day and then used it to fund a citi-fi account, 10000 clickreward points (actually 9900) plus 5000 AA miles.

CG,
Thanks for this info. I will call them on Monday and ask them to raise the limit. I just opened the account with them. So far so good, but they do not display the amount of the transaction in any form but $US, which makes it hard to rectify the bill when I use the card outside the US. I am waiting for them to respond to my e-mail about this. Amex does it great and some Visa and MC also do it well.

Hi, it's my first post.

Just for reminder, Clickmiles earned with Compubank is NOT redeemable for Skymiles.

Look for small prints at the bottom of the page in: http://www.compubank.com/rewards/abo...affinity=12240

Belle3388,
As I mentioned, DL does offer a Visa card, but not in the US. So, the Amex deal you speak of must only confine DL to Amex for certain regions.

The clickrewards themselves are not redeemable for Delta miles, but you can transfer clickrewards one for one to starwood points. Then you can transfer your starwood points one for one for Delta miles (actually if you have 20000 starwood points you can get 25000 Delta miles).

TexasFlyer:

UA has VISA card (thru FirstUSA). You could build miles in United and then use them for Delta.

If you like the idea please let me sponsor you into UA Visa. It's worth points to me.

Your best bet is CompuBank Visa checkcard like CG suggested. ClickMiles->SPG Starpoints->Delta SkyMiles. When you transfer 20K Starpoints as a time then you get 5K bonus miles.

On buidling UA miles for DL award, IMHO one of the downside is that the partnership is not solid one who know how long it will last...

BTW you can get up to $70 signup bonus when you open CompuBank account. Check out http://www.valueconsumer.com/CreditCards/Finance.htm for the complete CompuBank offers.

Great idea from CG and DH. Better than mine as long as your aware that it is a CHECK Card not a true credit card. Primary diff being that the amount of the charge is immediately taken from your Compubank Checking account. At least that's the way I read the small print. But the Starpoints 20M=25M is the clincher!! Hope that never ends but it probably will as more and more of us use it.

CG -- Transfer through Starwood to Delta is a great idea, but clickrewards themselves are indeed redeemable for DL miles by direct transfer.
