I need to fly from Ft. Lauderdale to Charleston, SC. The only non stop flight is on Chautauqua Airlines which is affiliated with from Delta. The aircraft has 37 seats...does anyone have any opinions on this airlines as to service, aircraft and on time departures??? I am a little nervous flying this airline...am wondering if I should take a US Air 737 that stops in Charlotte on the way to Charleston or go non stop on Chautququa?
Any opinions?
Chautauqua Airlines provides RJ services for AA, DL, UA, and US. They run a pretty solid operation. Personally, I would take the n/s flight. For more information on Chautauqua, see http://www.flychautauqua.com/

I flew on them (as US Express, but the only thing that changes is the colour of the plane and the announcements say US Airways instead of Delta)...excellent service, made the Delta Connection carriers (ASA and Comair) look bad...service was very upbeat and pleasant, smiling, etc. The seats are reasonably comfortable for an RJ (go for the A side, and if possible, nail the exit row, which is quite comfortable), the ERJ beats the CRJ in comfort any day of the week. Take the non-stop, you'll save yourself time and hassle, and it's not that much different in terms of comfort (US 737s aren't anything special).
I agree with the other posters. Take the nonstop on Chautauqua. My experiences with them put them as one of the better regional carriers. Plus, the option of going nonstop and avoiding ATL or CLT would be appealing to me.
The ERJ is a little cramped, but CHS-FLL isn't too long a flight. If you can, get a seat in the "A" aisle. That way, you'll have both a window and an aisle seat and no one sitting pressed up against you.
Probably one of the best. I fly them exclusively between BOS and CMH on an ERJ. My flight used to be HP, then DL picked it up when HP pulled out of CMH.

I'll repeat what an earlier poster noted: I HIGHLY recommend the 'A' side exit row on the ERJ. I'm fairly tall (6-3) and have quite a comfortable flight when I'm in that seat. There's more of a difference in the exit rows on these planes than most others, in my opinion.
why are you nervous- is it the small regional jet part (you'll be on one from CLT-CHS anyway if you take the other option) or the Chautauqua name (because it has 3 "U's" and a "Q" in it?)
There's no reason to be nervous. Just book through Delta.com and pretend it's like any other Delta flight, which it will be like. And welcome to FT!
